Today's Pledge taking ceremony at HSS Lorgam organised on the eve of World Environment Day under the "LIFE" - Lifestyle for Environment initiative of the Government of India.

Today a Programme on the eve of World Environment Day was celebrated in Govt. Higher Secondary School Lurgam under the theme ‘’Beat Plastic Pollution’’. The programme was conducted with an aim to create awareness about the environment and Various environmental issues. Various faculty members and Students presented their views on the occasion to enlighten about various aspects of the environment. Particular mention was paid towards the menace of plastic pollution and its negative consequences on the Environment. The speakers reiterated that the responsibility lies with the entire society to accomplish the resolution of “Beat Plastic Pollution” through the spirit of Jan Bhagidari by adopting integrated approach, reduce-reuse- recycle principle and by promoting sustainable alternative materials for redesign and repacking of products to protect the environment. As a part of the event the faculty members and the students launched a cleanliness drive in and around the school campus . The faculty members and students also took a pledge under “LIFE- Lifestyle for Environment” campaign launched by Govt. of India for the protection and conservation of Environment. At the culmination of the event, a vote of thanks was presented by Principal HSS Lurgam.
