M.B. College of Agriculture

The NSS unit of MBCOA provides a platform to the students for community work and developing a sense onf involvement in the tasks of nation building. NSS volunteers work during the camp organised between 14th to 20th August 2023 to ensure that a needy get help to enhance their standard of living. A variety of activities are organized every year to channelize the energy and idealism of the younger generation into creative pursuits. They educate students and society regarding many issues like health, sanitation, palliation, etc. Various health camps and cleanliness drives across campus and slum areas nearby are taken out regularly to create awareness and also to motivate people to work towards a clean environment.The NSS unit functions under the guidance of a NSS coordinator Dr. Suraj Choudhary, Assistant Professor, Department of Agricultural Economics.The NSS students of college focuses on providing access and opportunities to underprivileged in health and education. Nukad NATAK were organised at Paldi village along with plantation . The plants were protected by tree guards. Plantation program organised at Govt School Paldi, near Wazirpura, Tonk. Awareness rally were conducted during the camp in paldi village.
With a broader aim to work in the spheres of health, safety and cleanliness, NSS Unit of MBCOA is working to imbibe the idea of social welfare in students and instil the motto of ‘NOT ME BUT YOU’ in them in the real sense.

Event Name : Parthenium eradication Week (14th-20th August, 2023
Event Venue : Department of Agronomy, M. B. College of Agriculture, Tonk

Objective: To create Awareness and Eradication of Parthenium Week with inclusion and Joint participation. To control the menace of parthenium causing health problems in humans, animals and yield losses. Parthenium eradication week during 14th -20th August,2023, to make Students, farmers and general public aware about the menace of parthenium, which is responsible for causing health problems in human beings and animals, besides deteriorating agriculturally important lands and environment
Pre-Event Description: Department of Agronomy, M. B. College of Agriculture, Tonk, observed 14th Parthenium Awareness and Eradication Week at its campus at M. B. College of Agriculture and its instructional Farm. In Institute premises mass uprooting and cleaning programme was organized from 14th - 20th August, 2023. Dr. Gunnjeet Kaur, Principal, MBCOA Tonk, focused on the hazardous effect of parthenium w**d like allergies, skin diseases like dermatitis and asthma, besides environmental deterioration.
Coordination:
This awareness and eradication week is coordinated by Dr. G. N. Gurjar (Agronomist) and Co-Coordinator, Mr. Vinit Prajapati (Agronomist), Department of Agronomy. On the final day of this eradication week a lecture also given to students about awareness too. Also, the MBCOA faculty members given the contribution to eradicate parthenium.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. II year students of M.B. College of Agriculture,Tonk participated in scheduled NSS CAMP from August 14 ,2023 to August 19,2023.The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service.
The day one began with the campus cleaning under the supervision vision of NSS coordinator Dr. Suraj Choudhary, Assistant Professor , Dept Of Agricultural Economics.
