JSA College of Agriculture and Technology successfully inaugurated the ECO Club – Go Green Initiative, marking a significant step toward promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices on campus. As part of this initiative, the college achieved an important milestone by planting over 1,000 saplings, symbolizing its commitment to ecological conservation.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by two esteemed chief guests: Mrs. Gomathi, Forest Ranger, Ulundurpet, and Mr. Thiyagarajan, Branch Manager, Indian Bank, Ulundurpet. Their presence added distinction and encouragement to the occasion, reinforcing the importance of ecological responsibility among students and staff.

The event witnessed active participation from students across all years, guided and supported by Mr Sabarish, Dr Anbarasan, and their dedicated team.

World Soil Day
The Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry organized the World Soil Day celebration to promote awareness on the significance of soil health and sustainable soil management. The programme highlighted the global theme and emphasized the critical role of soil in ensuring food security, environmental balance, and sustainable agriculture.

The event was coordinated under the guidance of the department’s Assistant Professors, Dr. R. Raghunath and Dr. A. Mohamed Ansari Raja, who led the academic and technical sessions. Their presentations focused on soil biodiversity, nutrient management, soil degradation challenges, and practical strategies to enhance soil fertility. Demonstrations, field observations, and interactive discussions helped students gain a deeper understanding of soil conservation techniques.

The programme was conducted in the esteemed presence of Dr. S. Velprabakaran, Principal In-charge, whose support and encouragement added value to the initiative. The involvement of Mrs. R. Jeevanathiyal, NSS Programme Officer, strengthened student participation and aligned the event with the institution’s community engagement objectives.

Our NSS volunteers successfully conducted the following activities at Kallur village:
1️⃣ Awareness Rally on “தூய்மையான கிராமம் – சுகாதாரமான வாழ்வு” to promote cleanliness and healthy living.
2️⃣ Entrepreneurship Training for village Self Help Group (SHG) women, guiding them on various government schemes and opportunities.
