Uttar Pradesh Reaches for the Stars with Groundbreaking Rocket Launch
Uttar Pradesh has achieved a significant milestone in India's space endeavors with the successful launch of a rocket from its soil on Saturday, June 16. This historic event, a collaboration between the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Thrust Tech India Limited, marks the **inaugural deployment of a satellite payload from the state**.
The 15-kg rocket, launched at 5:14 PM, ascended to an altitude of **1.1 kilometers** before executing a safe descent. An ISRO scientist confirmed the successful payload release: "The rocket reached a height of 1.1 km, and shortly after, a small payload was released. Once it dropped to about five metres from the ground, its parachute deployed and the satellite landed within 400 metres of the launch site."
This test launch signifies a departure from previous trials in Ahmedabad, which relied on drones for payload deployment. Officials have confirmed the trial's complete success, noting it as a crucial precursor to an ambitious project planned for October-November, involving the testing of nearly 900 student-built satellites.
Vinod Kumar, Director of Thrust Tech India, affirmed the successful performance of the company's motor test, a vital component of the launch. Kumar emphasized the broader vision behind this initiative, stating, "This effort aims to spark an interest in space technology among children, not just locally but nationwide."

Celebrating 50 Years of Aryabhata: India's Leap into Space 🚀
On this day, April 19, 1975, India made a monumental stride into the cosmos with the launch of Aryabhata, our nation's first satellite. Named after the 5th-century mathematician and astronomer, Aryabhata was a testament to India's scientific prowess and ambition.
Key Highlights:
Launch Date: April 19, 1975
Launch Site: Kapustin Yar, Russia
Launch Vehicle: Kosmos-3M
Built By: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)
Weight: 360 kg
Mission Objectives: Experiments in X-ray astronomy, solar physics, and aeronomics
Despite a power failure halting experiments after four days, Aryabhata remained a symbol of India's entry into the space age. Its legacy paved the way for future missions and inspired generations of scientists and engineers.
Let's honor this milestone that marked the beginning of India's journey among the stars. 🌠
