EXAMINATIONS
1. There will be three terminal examinations a year, other than regular test. LKG and UKG will have only three examinations.
2. At the end of every month there will be a unit test during a zero period. All together there will be four such unit tests.
3. Please refer to the Calendar Section for the dates of each examination and the dates on which progress reports are issued for the students.
4. Each termly Examination will be based on portions taught till that examination from the beginning of the academic year. 20% marks will be from the portions of the I & II 80% marks from the III term .
5. Parents are advised to watch the progress of their children very closely, consult the teachers and take their advice whenever necessary.
6. All answer papers of all examinations (except the final exam) will be sent to the parents for their scrutiny, signature and return. This gives the parents sufficient opportunity to watch the performance of their children.
7. Suitable changes in the mode and pattern of examinations will be made when found necessary. Such changes will be intimated to the students in advance.
8. Weekly Test Papers will be conducted for all students from the first week of June.
PROMOTION
1. Promotion to a higher class is based on a students overall performance in the various examinations conducted during the year. Please see the Progress Report Card for details.
2. Results are declared at the end of every academic year and are final in all cases. Results will be with held if a . the student fails in one subject. b . Fees are not paid for all the 12 months of the year. Note : Requests for review of the results or retests will not be entertained.
3. The promotion lists will be put on the School notice board. Results will not be communicated to the parents or students by any other means.
4. Students who fail to score 40% average in each subject will be detained.
5. A student who fails twice in the same class will not be permitted to continue studies in the school.
6. There is no provision for re-examination.
7. A student without 80% attendance during the academic year is liable to be detained.
ABSENCE AND LEAVES
• Regular attendance at school is the prime requisite for progress in study. Parents are to ensure that their child does not absent himself/herself from school without valid reason.
• Permission for absence must be obtained before taking leave for any reason other than illness or emergency. A written application must be submitted to the class teachers for permission, preferably in this Diary.
• When a student returns to school after a period of unexpected absence, he/she must have the reason for absence certified in the diary by the guardian or parents.
• If the absence is likely to prolong owing to illness extending over 5 days the matter should be communicated to the Principal along with a medical certificate.
• Absenting on the first day after holidays or for examinations will be viewed seriously.
• Continuous absence for 15 days or more without leave, will render a pupil liable to be removed from the roll. Readmission if granted will be made only after the payment of fresh admission fees.
DISCIPLINE
a. The School insists on punctuality, regular attendance, good manners, cleanliness and devotion to study. Above all the student must be courteous to superiors and fellow students ( Please see the section : Guideline to Good Manners).
b. Every student shall bring the text book and note books required for the classes neatly covered and labeled. No newspapers periodicals or pictures shall be brought to school. No mobile phones and CD’s or DVDs are allowed, violation of which will lead to expulsion from the school.
c. Every student is required to help maintain the school premises clean and tidy. Waste paper and other waste materials should be deposited in the bins provided for the purpose. Defacing of walls, destruction of furniture, tampering with the plants in the garden etc. will be severely dealt with.
d. All assignments shall be regularly done and submitted. Parents/guardians are requested to read the REMARK section of the School Diary of their ward every day.
e. Pupils are responsible for the safe custody of their books and other belongings. No valuable articles or money should be brought to school. Sharp instruments and tools are not allowed in the school premises.
f. Students must move along the corridors and veranda in absolute silence and in an orderly manner. While moving along the classes or halls, they are to keep left and move in the line.
g. Students who remain in their class rooms during intervals are not allowed to play in the corridors or in the school yards during intervals.
h. In the absence of a teacher, it is the Class Leaders responsibility to keep order in the class. Strict silence should be absorbed inside the class during such times.
i. Students are expected to converse in English while they are in the School campus.
j. Students are not allowed to leave the School premises during class time without written permission of the class teacher, Vice Principal or Principal. They should never have any contact with strangers on their way to or back from the School.
k. If any student is found sick or wounded, the matter should be immediately reported to any of the teachers for immediate attention.
l. All students are expected to strictly follow the instructions given by the class teacher through the prefect/Class Leaders. .
m. Students traveling by the school buses should queue up when they board the buses.
