The Department of commerce in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ansar Arabic College, Valavannur, organised a two-day programme on Financial Literacy and Capital Markets – Level 2 of Financial Literacy on 3rd and 4th October 2025. The programme was conducted in association with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the National Institute of Securities Markets (NiSM).
The inaugural session commenced at 9:30 am on 3rd October. The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. Abdul Majeed A.I., Principal of Ansar Arabic College, who highlighted the relevance of financial awareness in today’s world and stressed the importance of informed investment decisions.
The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Afsal Abdul Khader M., Head of the Department of Commerce, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, participants, and resource persons. Prof. M. Abdurabb M., IQAC Coordinator, offered felicitations and emphasised the role of financial literacy in empowering individuals and strengthening economic stability.
The technical sessions were led by Dr. Sanesh Cholakkad, SEBI SMARTS, NSE, BSE, NSDL, CDSL, PFRDA, NCDEX, and NiSM trainer. His engaging and insightful sessions covered various aspects of capital markets, investment avenues, risk management, investor rights, and regulatory frameworks. The sessions provided participants with valuable knowledge and practical insights into financial planning and investment strategies.
The two-day programme witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and invited guests. Interactive discussions and Q&A sessions enhanced the learning experience, making the event highly impactful.
