Why Teachers’ Day is Celebrated?

To Honor Teachers – Teachers’ Day is celebrated to show respect and gratitude to teachers for shaping our lives through knowledge, guidance, and values.

In India (September 5th) – It is celebrated on the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (former President, philosopher, and great teacher). When his students wanted to celebrate his birthday, he suggested instead to celebrate it as Teachers’ Day to honor all teachers.

Why Important – Teachers are considered nation builders, as they mold young minds and prepare future citizens.

Message – It’s a day to thank teachers, recognize their hard work, and remind society of the importance of education.

World Letter Writing Day – September 1, 2025 (For Kids)

Why We Celebrate – To remind everyone that writing letters is a special way to share love, thoughts, and stories.

Who Started It – An Australian author and artist named Richard Simpkin began this day in 2014 because he loved collecting handwritten letters.

A Day for Handwritten Words – It shows us how important and beautiful it is to write with our own hands, not just type on phones.

Letters Connect People – Even before phones and computers, letters helped friends and families stay close.

Fun for Kids – Writing letters can be like making a small gift with words — you can decorate, draw, and make someone smile!

Basic Facts About India’s Independence Day 🇮🇳

Independence Day is celebrated on 15th August every year because on this day in 1947, India became free from British rule.

The first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, gave a famous speech called “Tryst with Destiny” on that day.

Every year, the Prime Minister hoists the national flag at the Red Fort in Delhi.

In 2025 (79th Independence Day), Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the flag and delivered a speech on the theme “Naya Bharat – Viksit Bharat by 2047.”

The Indian National Flag has three colors – saffron (courage), white (peace), and green (prosperity) – with the Ashoka Chakra (wheel of law) in the center.

Immediately following the flag hoisting, the national anthem, “Jana Gana Mana,” is sung .and joining cultural programs in schools.

Freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Rani Lakshmibai, and many others fought bravely for India’s freedom.

Independence Day reminds us to be proud Indians and to live with unity, peace, and respect for our country.
