1818 Rev James Hough M.A Started an English School at Courttallam (Azad Rd) road, Tirunelveli.
1822 Rev James Hutchinson M.A. Shifted the school to Palayamkottai.
1823 The school wast restarted in its original place by the efforts of Rev. C.T.E Rehnius and Thirumanam Sulochana Mudaliar.
1865 Became Anglo Vernacular School, Highe school sections started. first Principal
