In the Tirunelveli District Open Chess Tournament, nearly 200 players competed, including international-rated players and experienced coaches from several chess academies.

At just 13 years of age, after only 7 months of training at Rishi Chess Academy, Muthu Balaji displayed exceptional talent, determination, and fighting spirit. He defeated strong opponents, including three academy coaches, to emerge as the Open Category Champion and claim First Prize.
