Kudumbam A NGO working for sustainable rural development in southern India. Kudumbam is a NGO working for sustainable rural development in southern India. Oswald Quintal.

Their main focus is to uplift small and marginal farmers and landless agricultural laborers and to empower widows, single women, orphan children and differently abled people. Kudumbam is founded by Dr. Nammalvar and Mr. The organisations main office is located in Tiruchirapalli (Trichy) with 16 employees. There is also two smaller offices by the coast in Nagapattiman district in Tamil Nadu. At Kol

unji ecological farm there is also a number of empolyees working with ecological farming and different social projects. A childrens home called Vidivelli started in 1996. At Vidivelli children from the local villages can retain an understanding about nature and get support to finish their education in a safe environment. 🌱 Bio Village Conference at Kolunji Ecological Farm 🌾

Kudumbam organised a Bio Village Conference on 29 July at Kolunji Ecological Farm, bringing together farmers, women members, university students, and government officials to promote sustainable and ecological farming practices.

As part of the programme, participating farmers received 5 saplings, 2 kg of millet seeds, and vegetable seed packets to encourage biodiversity, nutritious food production, and sustainable agriculture in their communities. 🌿

Innovative farmers shared their experiences, ideas, and successful farming practices, inspiring others to explore sustainable approaches to agriculture.

🏆 Dr. Nammalvar Awards were presented to 20 innovative farmers in recognition of their contributions to sustainable and organic farming. 🌱🌾

Farmers also displayed a variety of traditional rice varieties, highlighting the importance of preserving our rich agricultural heritage and traditional seeds. 🌾🌱

Kudumbam observed the memorial day of Dr. Nammalvar, one of our founders and a renowned ecological scientist, by paying tribute with garlands and planting tree saplings in his honour. This act reflects our continued commitment to his vision of sustainable agriculture, ecological restoration, and community-led environmental action.
