Heber Environmental Sciences The department offers M. Sc., Environmental Sciences from the academic year 1984 – 1985 and the first set of environmental scientists graduated in June 1986.

Environmental Sciences is an inter-disciplinary endeavour incorporating natural and social sciences in the study of man’s relationships with air, water and with the fellow humans and other forms of life. Bishop Heber College (Autonomous) started the Post Graduate and Research Department of Environmental Sciences in the year 1984 (upgraded as Research Department in 1990) with a mission to Ensure En

vironmental Sustainability. This unique PG programme, the first of this kind in South India, is an interdisciplinary concentration involving the disciplines of Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics and Computer Science. Bishop Heber College is an aesthetically pleasing campus whose lawns and landscape are well – manicured and whose buildings are kept clean and in good repair by the trained maintenance crew.
