World Braille Day is observed on 4th January to raise awareness about the importance of Braille as a means of communication for people who are visually impaired. This day also marks the birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the inventor of the Braille system.

Braille plays a vital role in enabling visually impaired individuals to read, write, and gain education, thereby promoting independence and equality. It opens the doors of knowledge and empowers them to achieve their dreams with confidence.

✨ மகாகவி பாரதியார் பிறந்த நாள்

✨தமிழ்த் தேசத்தின் சுதந்திரக் காற்றை எழுப்பிய முதன்மைத் தீபமாக விளங்கியவர் மகாகவி சுப்பிரமணிய பாரதியார். 11 டிசம்பர் 1882 அன்று தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்டம் எட்டையாப்புரத்தில் பிறந்த அவர், சிறுவயதிலிருந்தே தமிழ், சமஸ்கிருதம், ஆங்கிலம் ஆகிய மொழிகளில் தேர்ச்சி பெற்றார். தன்னம்பிக்கை, சமத்துவம், பெண்மையின் உயர்வு, குழந்தைகளின் கல்வி, தேசபக்தி என பல துறைகளில் தீவிரமானக் கருத்துகளை மக்களிடம் கொண்டு சேர்த்தவர்.

பாரதியார் கவிதைகள் வெறும் பாடல்கள் அல்ல — அவை விழிப்புணர்வை உண்டாக்கும் புரட்சிக் குரல்கள்.
“நம்மாக்கும் தெய்வம் நல்லாக்கும் தெய்வம்” என்று தன்னம்பிக்கை விதைத்த கவிஞர்;
“சாதிகளிலே சாதி இல்லை” என்று சமத்துவம் பேசினார்;
“பெண்ணென்பது பேரழகு” என்று பெண்களின் சுதந்திரத்தைப் போற்றினார்;
“விடுதலைக் காற்றே வீசிடு” என்று சுதந்திர உணர்வை தீட்டினார்.

பாரதியார் பிறந்த நாளை ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் நாம் கொண்டாடுவது, அவரின் சிந்தனைகளையும், தமிழ் மொழிக்குச் செலுத்திய பங்களிப்பையும் நினைவு கூர்வதற்காக மட்டுமல்ல.
அவரின் கனவு கண்ட சமத்துவம், கல்வி, அன்பு, சுயநினைவு, தேசபக்தி ஆகியவற்றை இன்றைய தலைமுறையிலும் விதைப்பதற்காக.

இன்றைய விழா மாணவர்களுக்கு ஒரு ஊக்கமாக அமைந்து,
“புதியதோர் உலகம் செய்வோம்!” என பாரதியார் சொன்ன கனவை நிறைவேற்றும் மனப்பாங்கை நம்முள் வளர்க்கட்டும்.
