🌍🗺️ We are delighted to announce the successful commencement of our second batch of online training programme, “GIS Basics in QGIS Software”, organized by the Centre for e-Learning (CeL), Kerala Agricultural University! 🏡💻

The training programme commenced on 13th July 2026, bringing together students, faculty members, researchers, professionals, and GIS enthusiasts to explore the fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using the open-source QGIS platform. 🌱📍

Designed to provide participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in spatial data analysis, mapping, and geospatial technologies, the programme aims to empower learners with essential GIS skills for research, agriculture, natural resource management, and data-driven decision-making. 🌏📊

Dr. B. Ajithkumar, Director of Students' Welfare, Kerala Agricultural University, presided over the inaugural function.

Dr. Abdul Hakim V. M., Director of Education, Kerala Agricultural University, formally inaugurated the training programme and highlighted the growing importance of geospatial technologies in agriculture, environmental management, and scientific research, encouraging participants to leverage GIS tools for innovative solutions.

Dr. K. Surendra Gopal, Dean, College of Agriculture, Vellanikkara, Kerala Agricultural University, extended his felicitations and appreciated the initiative taken by the Centre for e-Learning in promoting digital capacity building.

Dr. Berin Pathrose, Director, Centre for e-Learning, Kerala Agricultural University, warmly welcomed the dignitaries and participants.

Dr. P. Radhakrishnan, Geospatial Analyst and the resource person of the training presented an overview of the training programme, outlining the course objectives and learning outcomes.

The inaugural session concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Dr. Akhil Ajith, Institutional Coordinator, Centre for e-Learning, Kerala Agricultural University.

🌾 A Memorable Milestone for the Centre for e-Learning, Kerala Agricultural University!🌾

The Centre for e-Learning, Kerala Agricultural University, successfully organized the release of "Knowledge Bank – Season 1" and the teaser launch of the documentary "പൊക്കാളി കൃഷി" (Pokkali Krishi), marking another significant step towards promoting digital agricultural education and preserving Kerala's rich agricultural heritage.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. T. Sajitha Rani, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Kerala Agricultural University, who officially released Knowledge Bank – Season 1 and unveiled the teaser of the documentary "പൊക്കാളി കൃഷി (Pokkali Cultivation of Rice)", reaffirming the University's commitment to innovation in agricultural education and outreach.

The programme commenced with the KAU Invocation Song, followed by the Welcome Address by Dr. B. Ajithkumar, Director, Centre for e-Learning, Kerala Agricultural University, who welcomed the gathering and highlighted the vision behind these digital initiatives.

Delivering the presidential address by Dr. Gopakumar S., Dean, College of Forestry, Vellanikkara, emphasized the importance of knowledge dissemination through technology.

The occasion was further enriched by felicitations from Dr. P. Sureshkumar, Professor (Retd.), Dr. Dhalin D., Director of Physical Plant, and Dr. K. Surendra Gopal, Dean, College of Agriculture, Vellanikkara, whose encouraging words recognized the significance of the initiative and the collaborative efforts behind it.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Berin Pathrose, Professor, Kerala Agricultural University, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the event. Dr. Lincy Davis, Assistant Professor, KAU, Mr. Arjun Vysakh Assistant Professor, KAU and Dr. Akhil Ajith, Institutional Coordinator, Centre for e-Learning, KAU were present.

A heartfelt appreciation goes to the dedicated team of the Centre for e-Learning, faculty members, subject experts, technical staff, media professionals, and all those who worked behind the scenes. Their collective efforts made this event and these digital resources a reality.

The Centre for e-Learning, Kerala Agricultural University (CeL-KAU) successfully conducted a one-day contact class as part of its Online Certificate Course in Post-Harvest Management( Malayalam & English) at the College of Agriculture, Vellanikkara.

🎤 The program was inaugurated by Dr. Sajitha Rani T., Dean, CoA, Vellanikkara.
Dr. B. Ajithkumar, Director, CeL-KAU warmly welcomed all the participants to the session. Dr. Saji Gomez, Head of Department of Post-Harvest Technology felicitated the program.

Dr. Megha, Department of Post-Harvest Technology, led interactive sessions, where participants gained hands-on training in processing of 🍍 pineapple and 🍅 tomato.

​The Centre for e-Learning, Kerala Agricultural University (CeL-KAU) successfully conducted a one-day contact class as part of its Online Certificate Course in Plant Propagation and Nursery Management at the College of Agriculture, Vellanikkara.
​🎤 The program began with a warm welcome speech by Dr. B. Ajithkumar, Director, CeL-KAU and was inaugurated by Dr. Sajitha Rani T., Dean, CoA, Vellanikkara. Dr. Mini Shankar, Head of Department of Nursery Management felicitated the program.
​👩‍🏫 Dr. Mini Shankar and Ms. Rashidha (PhD scholar) led the interactive sessions, where participants gained hands-on training in essential nursery techniques like 🌱 budding, grafting, layering, and preparing the perfect 🪴 potting mixtures!
