Practical life area of a Montessori Environment includes activities that we do in our daily life.When a two and half year old starts doing these activities, it helps her to develop eye hand coordination, concentration and the skill of doing things.These activities prepare the hands for writing and helps to develop mathematical mind which supports their future learning process.

The math materials in a Montessori environment helps the child to gain concrete understanding of abstract concepts.The short chains and long chains of coloured beads helps children to count linearly from one to thousand.The placing of arrows with numbers written on them (skipping numbers in between) gives a visual experience of multiplication table
