The Technical Higher Secondary School, Muttom, Thodupuzha was established in the year 1996 under the Institute of Human Resources Development, Thiruvanathapuram, a Govt of Keala undertaking. from Muttom junction and about 8Kms from Thodupuzha, the school has an excellent atmosphere for healthy education. It provides an education which strives for excellence in pursuit of knowledge and encourages creativity and independent thinking through vocational courses. It is trying to impart an all round education giving particular emphasis on intellectual, moral and physical development.

ആഘോഷിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ഭാഷാടിസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങള്‍ വിഭജിക്കപ്പെട്ടതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് കേരളം ഒരു സംസ്ഥാനമെന്ന നിലയില്‍ പിറവി കൊണ്ട ദിനം മലയാളിക്ക് അഭിമാനത്തിന്റെ ദിനം കൂടി. വിവിധ രാജകുടുംബങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് കീഴിലായിരുന്ന കേരള ജനത സ്വാതന്ത്യ്രം കിട്ടിയതിനു ശേഷവും ഒരു സംസ്ഥാനമെന്ന നിലയില്‍ ഏകീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടത് പിന്നെയും വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ശേഷമാണ്.. മലയാളം സംസാരിക്കുന്നവരെല്ലാം ഒരു സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ കുടക്കീഴില്‍ വരുന്നത്1956 നവംബര്‍ ഒന്നിന്. സ്വാതന്ത്യ്രം കിട്ടി രണ്ട് വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ശേഷം 1949ല്‍ തിരുകൊച്ചി സംസ്ഥാനം രൂപം കൊണ്ടതെങ്കിലും മലബാര്‍ അപ്പോഴും മദ്രാസ് പ്രസിഡന്‍സിയുടെ ഭാഗമായിരുന്നു. പ്രാദേശിക അതിര്‍ത്തികള്‍ ഭേദിച്ച് മലയാളി കേരളം എന്ന സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്‍ കീഴില്‍ വരുന്നതിന് 1956 നവംബര്‍ ഒന്ന് വരെ കാത്തിരിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു. ആ കാത്തിരിപ്പിന്റെ സഫലത ആഘോഷിക്കുകയാണ് നവംബര്‍ ഒന്നിന് മലയാളികള്‍.
