The Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, appreciated the timely and intelligent response of two Siddha physicians during a recent flight—Secretary, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, along with Joint Secretaries Smt. Alarmelmangai D and Ms Monalisa Dash met with Dr Elavarasan and Dr Gowtham to commend their presence of mind and medical support.

During the flight, a passenger suddenly experienced unexplained giddiness. Despite the cabin crew providing initial first aid, the condition remained unstable, prompting a call for medical assistance. Responding immediately, Siddha physicians Dr Elavarasan and Dr Gowtham assessed the passenger and applied specific Varmam stimulation techniques referenced in classical Siddha literature. Within minutes, the passenger experienced significant relief, helping stabilise the situation smoothly.

The Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, appreciated the doctors' responsible, calm, and effective intervention. He emphasised that the practical use of Siddha Varmam therapy in such situations demonstrates its supportive potential in emergencies when administered by trained professionals. The incident also underscores the importance of greater public awareness and structured training in Siddha Varmam techniques to enhance their wider healthcare utility.
