The new block of Kerala State Institute of Health and Family Welfare was inaugurated by the Honourable minister of Health and Family Welfare Smt. Veena George on 18/05/2023.The occassion was made graceful by the State Mission Director NHM;Sri Jeevan Babu IAS, The Director of Health Services ;Dr. Reena K J,Addl Director of Health Services(FW) Dr. Meenakshy V, DMO Thiruvananthapuram Dr. Bindu Mohan, District Programme Manager Dr. Asha Vijayan, Corporation Counsellor Sri. Krishnakumar and many other dignitaries from various departments under Govt of Kerala. Respected DHS Dr. Reena KJ welcomed the group and KSIHFW Principal Dr. Presannakumari delivered the vote of thanks.We are happy to inform that the Kerala state skills lab is starting a new journey in the new block with a state of art facility lab and conference hall. The new block also includes lecture halls and accommodation facilities for KSIHFW training participants. We thank Govt of Kerala and National Health Mission for supporting us in upgrading the institution. Thanks to one and all who were a great help during the upgradation process

After a short break the Kerala state skills lab is back to action with the latest Kerala specific module "The Maathru Sishu Kavacham". The module was released by Hon. Minister for Health and Family Welfare Smt. Veena George in the SMO conference on 16/01/2023. Present in the function were Ms. Tinku Biswal IAS the Health Secretary, Dr. V. Meenakshi, DHS, and other dignitaries.The training using this manual started on 16/01/2023 with a group of gynecologists and nurses as participants.
