Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram (KV Pattom) is a co-educational day school established in 1964 by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), an autonomous organization under the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education (India), located at Pattom (Thiruvananthapuram) in Kerala, India. KV Pattom is known for its academics, innovations, reputed faculty, co-curricular

activities, library, social-connect initiatives, infrastructure, and illustrious alumni.

*HISTORY*
Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom (KV Pattom) was established in1964. The first batch of Higher Secondary Grade (Class XI) students graduated from the school in 1969 and 10+2 System began in the year 1977. The school was selected by KVS for the 'Model School Scheme' in 1997 and 'Smart School Scheme' in 2005. Gomathy Krishnanand, Shri P. Uma Sankar IAS and Gayathri Radhakrishnan were the first Principal, Chairman and student of the school.

*ACHIEVEMENTS*
The school was ranked as the best Government day school in the country in the Education World India School Rankings for the years 2021, 2017, 2016 and 2015. It won the Reading4Pleasure School Award - 2020, instituted by Food4Thought Foundation and KVS-Intel Best Integration of Technology in Education Award for Schools in 2009. The project Library Junction & Face a BookChallenge were selected for NCERT & KVS National Innovation Awards in 2011 & 2014.

The Sanskrit newspaper “Sree Shankaram” of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom – Shift I was ceremoniously unveiled during the morning assembly by our esteemed Principal, Shri Girish Shankaran Thampi.

A copy was subsequently presented to the school library and received by our Librarian, Smt. Anju Krishnan.

🌟 Clear Vision, Brighter Learning – Eye Check-up Camp✨

PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom, in association with Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital, Trivandrum, organised an Eye Check-up Camp for Board Class students on 20 August 2026 at the Junior Computer Lab. The camp aimed to promote eye health and provide basic eye screening. Students actively participated and followed the instructions of the staff. Staff members also availed the facility. The initiative highlighted the importance of healthy eyes for better learning and overall well-being.

🌸 A Heartfelt Farewell to a Beloved Teacher 🌸

Today, PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom Shift-I bid a warm and heartfelt farewell to our beloved colleague, Smt. Sheeba John, Senior Most PRT, marking the conclusion of her dedicated and memorable journey of service.

The farewell programme, hosted with love and affection by the Primary students, was a beautiful tribute to a teacher whose commitment, kindness and devotion have touched the lives of generations of students and colleagues. The atmosphere was filled with cherished memories, gratitude and heartfelt emotions.

The programme was graced by the presence of Principal Shri Giri Sankaran Thampi, Vice Principal Smt. S. Sobhanakumari, and Headmistress Smt. Shyla S., who joined the staff and students in expressing their appreciation and warm wishes to Smt. Sheeba John.

A vibrant celebration of Kerala’s rich culture and heritage! The exhibition was inaugurated by Principal Shri R. Giri Sankaran Thampi in the presence of Vice Principal Mrs. Sobhana, Headmistress Mrs. Shyla S and Senior-most PRT Mrs. Sheeba Ma’am.

From Pookalam, Vallam Kali and Nalukettu to Kathakali, traditional art and handicrafts, our little learners beautifully brought the spirit of Kerala alive. 🌿✨
