Tending to a terrarium is more than seeing a flower bed —it’s therapy in a glass bowl.

Why start a terrarium?
The act of building a terrarium—choosing plants, layering soil, arranging stones—is deeply calming. It’s a moment of stillness in a noisy world. Once done, it rewards you daily with fresh green vibes.

That fulfilling thought when you see it lit up inside your room:

1. “In the middle of chaos, I created calm.”
2. “This glass garden reminds me to breathe and be present.”
3. “This is my piece of nature, designed by me.”

🌿 Thinking of making a terrarium?

Here are 6 easy-to-care-for plants that thrive in a glass enclosure:

1. Fittonia (Nerve Plant) – Colorful veins, low light friendly

2. Pilea – Compact, quirky leaves, loves humidity

3. Moss – Adds lush green base and retains moisture

4. Air Plants (Tillandsia) – No soil needed, super low maintenance

5. Peperomia – Variety of textures and shapes

6. Earth Star (Cryptanthus): A striking, star-shaped plant with bold colors that adds a dramatic flair to any terrarium.

7. Syngonium (Arrowhead Plant): A fast-growing, low-maintenance plant with arrow-shaped leaves that brings a lush, tropical vibe to small spaces.

Practical Tips to Make Your Terrarium Look Great:

1. Use layers – pebbles, charcoal, soil, then plants – for both function & aesthetics

2. Place a statement plant slightly off-center to give it a natural, curated look

Create a little world in glass – and let nature sit on your table.

Wow!

Final result of the workshop.
It took 3 h to finish and plant the layout.
I hope that all the people have enjoyed as much as I do.
Tanks to all the akvarieboden staff for their good hospitality and for the help, specially Maya for her assistance in the workshop.
I will now run for all the photos and post some more in the next days.
Once again Jason and Janne thank you for the invitation.
