The Dandi March, also known as the Salt March, was a significant event in the Indian independence movement led by Mahatma Gandhi. It began on March 12, 1930, and lasted until April 6, 1930. During this march, Gandhi and his followers walked 240 miles (approximately 385 kilometers) from Sabarmati Ashram to the coastal village of Dandi in Gujarat, India, to protest the British monopoly on salt.
