When it comes to cockroaches why do we go "Eew", "ick" and "yuck"?
Our intense hatred and disgust for cockroaches stem from a combination of evolutionary instinct, their association with filth and being vectors of disease, and their repulsive physical traits(They are oily, greasy, and emit a foul, musty odor). They trigger a "disgust and panic response" due to their speed, greasy texture, and tendency to invade personal spaces, which we associate with unclean environments( garbage and sewers).
We tend to protect animals that are visually "cute" or more like us(Animals easily anthropomorphized), while regarding insects as pests. This lack of empathy for cockroaches also stems from this evolutionarily tuned feelings of disgust.
The following quote from Friedrich Nietzsche captures this sentiment aptly.
"If you kill a cockroach you are a hero; if you kill a butterfly, you are evil. Morals have aesthetic criteria,"

What's the connection between botox and depression?
People use Botox (Botulinum toxin A) to look youthful because it temporarily relaxes facial muscles, smoothing wrinkles by weakening or paralyzing muscles.
Scientific evidence based on multiple randomized controlled trials suggests that Botox can be an effective treatment for depression, though it is not yet officially approved for this purpose by any medical authorities.
Botox toxin by paralyzing "grief muscles" used for frowning disrupts a feedback loop to the brain's emotional centers, thereby softening negative emotions.
The facial feedback hypothesis suggests that facial expressions directly influence emotional experiences, rather than just acting as reflections of emotions.
For example smiling can make you feel happier, while frowning can trigger sadness or anger.
Other potential mechanisms might be botox reducimg activity of Aygdala and increasing levelsnof serotonin. More studies are required to confimr these resukts and develop Botox injections as potential treatment of depression.
