Director, CSIR-NIIST attended the National Conference on Recent Advancements in Food Analytical Chemistry (RAFAC-2026) at Kochi on 29th May 2026 as the Special Guest for the inaugural session and chaired the technical session on “Emerging Food Nutrients, Contaminants and HACCP Interventions.”
The session focused on advancing analytical approaches to identify emerging nutrients and contaminants, while reinforcing the role of HACCP-based interventions in ensuring food safety and quality across the value chain.

We are happy to share a high-impact publication from Dr. Pinaki Dey’s group in the Journal of Cleaner Production (Elsevier, IF: 10) titled “Advancing polyhydroxybutyrate-co-polyhydroxyvalerate (PHBV) production from coconut coir pith waste: An intensified and targeted approach for sustainable bioconversion through enzymatic hydrolysis”. The study presents an efficient enzymatic hydrolysis and bioconversion strategy to produce PHBV, a promising sustainable and biodegradable biopolymer for applications in food packaging and tissue engineering.

We are happy to share a high impact publication from the group of Dr.Rakhi R. B, in the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy (If=8.3) . The article title is “NiCo₂S₄/S-doped rGO Nanocomposites for Efficient Electrocatalytic Water Splitting under Saline Conditions,”.
