There’s a trait that separates those who endure long, demanding journeys from those who fade midway: curiosity.

It is the kind of curiosity that keeps asking why and how, even when the syllabus feels endless and the easier choice is to simply memorise and move on.

Dr. Aravind Narayanan, who secured AIR 528 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026, built his journey on that very instinct.

His story began as a student dismantling computers and writing code, not for the sake of achievement, but out of a pure desire to understand how they worked. What may have looked like a distraction back then was, in truth, the early shaping of a mind trained to question, connect, and make sense of the world.

That same instinct defined his UPSC preparation.

While many aspirants get lost in the sheer volume of material, Aravind approached the syllabus differently; for him, it was merely a framework. Previous Year Questions became his guide, helping him identify what really mattered and why.

Again, his curiosity extended beyond what to study into how to study.

When his Anthropology Optional notes became overwhelming, he didn’t just push harder. He paused, questioned the process, and experimented. By using AI to compress bulky material into concise, memory-friendly summaries, he focused on gaining clarity rather than mere accumulation.

Throughout his time at Lead IAS: from Prelims and Mains to the Interview stage, his journey was marked by constant self-inquiry. During mentorship sessions and discussions, he was always asking: Where am I lacking? What needs to improve? What must change?

This relentless pursuit of improvement is what crafted his success.

Aravind’s journey makes one thing clear: in an exam like the UPSC, content alone is never enough.

It is curiosity that sustains you when motivation fades;
It is what turns preparation into understanding,
And understanding into performance.

Congratulations, Aravind! 👏

A huge thank you to each and every student who stood with such consistency, energy, and trust throughout this Marathon 🙌📚

More than the 14 hours, what truly amazed us was your focus, participation, and endurance till the very end. Many of you sat and studied continuously for a duration you had never attempted before and that itself is a massive achievement 🔥

From the live chat energy to the consistency in views, the online students were no less active than the offline crowd. That spirit is what truly made this Marathon special ☕️📖

The team spirit you appreciated in the admin, content, mentors, and faculties was reflected back even more strongly through all of you ❤️

Now go make this consistency reflect in the exam hall too 🚀
