Pathanamthitta District Sub-Junior Basketball Championship Hosted at Mar Thoma Residential School๐๐๐๐๐
Tiruvalla, 30 July 2026: Mar Thoma Residential School (MTRS), Tiruvalla, proudly hosted the Pathanamthitta District Sub-Junior Basketball Championship, welcoming talented young basketball players from schools across the district. The championship featured thrilling matches, exceptional teamwork, and exemplary sportsmanship, making it a memorable sporting event.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mrs. Anitha Susan Varghese, Principal of Mar Thoma Residential School, who congratulated the players on their excellent performance. She also appreciated the dedication and tireless efforts of the coaches, teachers, officials, and organisers for ensuring the grand success of the championship.
The MTRS Girls' Basketball Team delivered an outstanding performance and emerged as the Runners-Up in the championship. During a special felicitation ceremony held at the school, MLA Adv. Varghese Mammen presented the runners-up trophy to the team in recognition of their remarkable achievement.
Adding to the school's pride, Angelina Anna Abraham was crowned the SHB Sub-Junior Girls' Champion for her exceptional individual performance throughout the tournament, bringing further honour to Mar Thoma Residential School.
Throughout the championship, the entire MTRS community stood firmly behind the team. Students enthusiastically cheered for and encouraged the players during every match, creating an electrifying atmosphere that inspired them to perform with confidence and determination.
