Pathanamthitta District Sub-Junior Basketball Championship Hosted at Mar Thoma Residential School🏀🏀🏀🌈🌈

Tiruvalla, 30 July 2026: Mar Thoma Residential School (MTRS), Tiruvalla, proudly hosted the Pathanamthitta District Sub-Junior Basketball Championship, welcoming talented young basketball players from schools across the district. The championship featured thrilling matches, exceptional teamwork, and exemplary sportsmanship, making it a memorable sporting event.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mrs. Anitha Susan Varghese, Principal of Mar Thoma Residential School, who congratulated the players on their excellent performance. She also appreciated the dedication and tireless efforts of the coaches, teachers, officials, and organisers for ensuring the grand success of the championship.

The MTRS Girls' Basketball Team delivered an outstanding performance and emerged as the Runners-Up in the championship. During a special felicitation ceremony held at the school, MLA Adv. Varghese Mammen presented the runners-up trophy to the team in recognition of their remarkable achievement.

Adding to the school's pride, Angelina Anna Abraham was crowned the SHB Sub-Junior Girls' Champion for her exceptional individual performance throughout the tournament, bringing further honour to Mar Thoma Residential School.

Throughout the championship, the entire MTRS community stood firmly behind the team. Students enthusiastically cheered for and encouraged the players during every match, creating an electrifying atmosphere that inspired them to perform with confidence and determination. Their unwavering support reflected the school's strong spirit of unity, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The championship concluded with the presentation of trophies and certificates, celebrating the achievements of all the participating teams. മാർത്തോമാ റെസിഡൻഷ്യൽ സ്കൂൾ മലയാളം വിഭാഗം അധ്യാപകനായ ശ്രീ. സജയ് ജോൺ രചിച്ച "കുശലം പടി കടന്നുവരുന്നു" എന്ന കവിതാസമാഹാരം സ്കൂൾ പ്രിൻസിപ്പാൾ ശ്രീമതി. അനിതാ സൂസൻ വർഗ്ഗീസ് പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്തു.

വാക്കുകളിലൂടെ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ സ്പന്ദനങ്ങൾ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിലെത്തിക്കുന്ന ഈ കൃതി സാഹിത്യാസ്വാദകർക്ക് വിലപ്പെട്ടൊരു വായനാനുഭവമാകട്ടെ.

FIFA World Cup 2026 Closing Ceremony at MTRS❤️⚽⚽❤️
The FIFA World Cup 2026 Closing Ceremony at Mar Thoma Residential School (MTRS) was a spectacular celebration of football, unity, and teamwork. The event brought together students and teachers in a vibrant atmosphere, transforming the school campus into a lively FIFA arena.

The programme was beautifully organized by the Class IX students under the guidance of Bindu Rani Miss, Athira Miss, and Kezia Miss. The colourful jersey and flag parade, energetic flash mob, motivational talks, and ceremonial kick-off reflected the students' enthusiasm, dedication, and teamwork, inspiring everyone present.

A major attraction of the celebration was the presentation by the Class XII students, who creatively showcased the history and evolution of the FIFA World Cup, from its origin to the 2026 tournament. Their engaging football highlights presentation captivated the audience and added a meaningful educational dimension to the event.

The school extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Principal, Vice Principal, and Headmistress for their unwavering support, encouragement, and vision in making the FIFA World Cup 2026 Closing Ceremony at MTRS a grand success. Our little stars of MTRS Pre-KG celebrated Rainbow Day with great enthusiasm, dressed in vibrant colours that reflected the beauty of a rainbow. Through fun-filled activities, songs, and creative learning, they discovered that every colour is unique—and together, they make the world brighter and more beautiful.

The first session of the Inter House Cultural Competitions 2026–27 at Mar Thoma Residential School, Tiruvalla concluded successfully on 17th July 2026.

Students from all four houses showcased their talents with great enthusiasm, creativity, and team spirit.

The programme was graced by Mr. Vinu Thomas, Music Director of Drishyam fame, as the Guest of Honour.

The session ended on a high note, leaving everyone inspired and eagerly awaiting the remaining competitions.❤️
