At SASTRA, the IEEE SASTRA University Student Branch was officially approved on the 12th of March and inaugurated on 6th April 2012 with a grand induction that included a Knowledge Leadership Lecture, presided by Major V.V.Chandrasekaran, Honorary Secretary & Student Activities Chair IEEE, Madras Section. The student branch aims to evolve a full-fledged technical team, the members of which will be involved in various activities such as conducting workshops, conferences and lectures.
