Date: 22.7.26

As a part of the Social Outreach initiative - Setu, PPS school children visited our school and participated in engaging sessions with our ISC students. The first session was Music, where they learned songs and enjoyed singing together. This was followed by a Lab Visit, where they explored simple experiments and experienced the joy of learning through observation and discovery. The final session was in the Library, where they explored books, read a story, and enacted it together. The sessions provided a wonderful opportunity for children to learn, share, interact, and create meaningful memories together.

The Term I Examinations are around the corner, students are gearing up for them and at this crucial juncture, they need motivation not only to enhance their performance but also to maintain their energy and well-being.
They need guidance on how to take breaks, rejuvenate themselves between studies and approach their preparation in a balanced manner. On this note,
Dr. Revathi Srinivasan, Director Education, Principal and Dean of Singhania group of schools, conducted an insightful and engaging session with the students of Grade 8 , ahead of their upcoming examinations. She emphasised that while preparation is indispensable, a calm and composed mind is equally vital for translating knowledge into performance. Through box breathing and simple stress-relieving exercises, she equipped students with practical strategies to manage examination-related anxiety. She also highlighted the significance of nutritious meals, adequate sleep and healthy routines—seemingly simple yet essential habits for cultivating mental clarity and balance. Encouraging students to remain consistent, confident and focused, she wished them success and urged them to give in their very best.

STD 9 : A Visit of Gratitude – Threads of Gratitude Reaching Our Guardians of Freedom!! 🇮🇳

“A Rakhi is not a thread; it is a bond of love, affection and gratitude.”

Continuing the spirit of our Independence Day activity, students of Std. 9 from Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School had the honour of visiting the Kanheri Hills Air Base on 21st August, 2026, to present the Rakhis lovingly crafted by the students of Std. 9 as a token of gratitude to our brave soldiers.

Each Rakhi, carefully created by the hands of our students carried with it a message of love, respect and appreciation for the courageous men and women who dedicate themselves to protecting our nation. Presenting these Rakhis in person made the students’ gesture of gratitude more meaningful.

The visit was an experience that beautifully reflected the spirit of patriotism, respect and gratitude reminding our students of the unwavering dedication of those who stand in service of our motherland.

As these Rakhis reached our nation’s guardians they carried the wishes and prayers of the students of Std. 9. A simple thread woven with love carrying a powerful message of gratitude.

A thread of love.

A promise of gratitude.

A salute, to the guardians of our freedom. 🇮🇳

Jai Hind! 🇮🇳

The students of Grades VIII had a fun and interactive ‘Financial Literacy Session’ that introduced students to smart money habits and the importance of saving. This session was led by Miss Priyanka Dey , it encouraged students to think before they spend money and consider what they should do when they receive money. Students responded to questions and took part in a fun activity where different items were listed and they needed to use hand gestures to show whether they would spend, curtail spending, save or pause to think before deciding. The activity encouraged students to reflect on their choices and understand the difference between needs and wants. The session was interactive and helped students become more mindful of their financial decisions.

The students were given a very interesting challenge called the ‘Travel Group Challenge’. Students from each section will have to compete in two groups, where one group will prepare a chart on a domestic travel budget, while the other will prepare another chart on an international travel budget. The charts have to be submitted, such that the best chart will be awarded. This activity will generate considerable interest among the students while they learn how to plan and manage money wisely while travelling.

On this note the Entrepreneurship Club was also introduced through a creative poster-making activity. Students who were interested, were asked to prepare posters on “Dream Business” and “A Product I Wish Existed.” The key takeaway from this activity is that it encourages students to think creatively, identify problems and opportunities, and turn their ideas into potential business concepts. It lays the foundation towards entrepreneurial thinking, problem-solving and confidence in presenting business ideas.

The students were briefed about the purpose of the programme, the itinerary, their responsibilities, eligibility criteria and the selection process.
A presentation was shown on the school’s previous exchange visit to St. Joseph’s School, North Point, Darjeeling. Photographs from the visit helped the students understand the activities and learning involved in the programme. The students showed great interest and expressed their desire to participate.
The teachers explained the screening process and the sessions that will eventually, prepare students for the physical exchange to Darjeeling. These sessions will focus on grooming, communication, behaviour, teamwork and project preparation. Students will also learn how to present small projects that can be shared during their visit.

At the end of the session, certificates were presented to students who had participated in the exchange programme in the previous year. The certificates recognised their commitment, preparation and exemplary conduct during the visit. ‘Alfaaz’ – Debate Competition
On 15 August, Politeia, the Political Science Club and MUNer Society of ISC
jointly organised ‘Alfaaz’, an engaging and thought-provoking debate
competition. The event focused on the contemporary and highly debatable
topic: “Is the Media a Watchdog or Does it Work as Political Propaganda?”
The competition provided students with a platform to critically examine the
role of the media in a democracy. Participants presented arguments both in
favour of and against the motion, highlighting issues such as media
accountability, freedom of the press, political influence, misinformation, and
the media’s responsibility towards the society.
The debate was conducted in a four-versus-four format, with teams
representing both sides of the motion. The participants demonstrated
impressive confidence, clarity of thought and awareness of current political
and social issues. The vigorous rebuttals and counter-rebuttals made the
debate particularly engaging and kept the audience thoroughly involved.
The event was attended by ISC students, who enthusiastically followed the
arguments and appreciated the diverse perspectives presented by the
participants. The lively exchange of ideas encouraged students to think
beyond conventional viewpoints and understand the complexities surrounding
the role of media in a democratic society.
The competition received considerable appreciation for its relevant topic,
spirited participation and intellectually stimulating discussions. ‘Alfaaz’
successfully reflected the objectives of the Political Science Club by promoting
critical thinking, public speaking, informed debate and democratic dialogue
among students.

Life is pretty easy… All you have to do is breathe in and breathe out, then repeat.

Grade 3 students understood this well by doing a science activity on the Respiratory System.

Creating a working model of the Respiratory System using cardboard, straws and balloons is a fantastic hands-on learning experience. It helps children visualize the different components and engage in a tactile and interactive way, leading to a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

Activities like these go beyond traditional classroom teaching methods and promote experiential learning. They enable students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications, making the learning process more meaningful and memorable.

Additionally, such activities encourage creativity and critical thinking as students figure out how to accurately represent the different parts of the respiratory system and how they function together. Incorporating “learning by doing” strategies into education not only enhances comprehension but also fosters a sense of curiosity and enthusiasm among students, making the learning journey enjoyable and impactful. In this activity, students used straws and balloons to create their models, adding a fun and engaging element to the learning process.
