Do you know that the first playwright was Bhāsa, but unfortunately, his plays were found in the year 1909 C.E.
It is quite surprising that the person who is mentioned and praised by well-known playwrights and authors; his plays are found after those playwrights and commentators gave their take and praise on Bhāsa's plays.
In 1909, T. Gaṇapatiśāstrī, a महामहोपाध्याय took a responsibility of cataloguing all the Sanskrit manuscripts. While searching for the manuscripts, he found 13 manuscripts which were actually plays but without the name of author. When the characters were studied it was concluded that the plays were of Bhāsa. These 13 plays had similar pattern of play, so it was definitely penned down by the same writer. These plays were not available to people in the time period of around 14th Century to 19th Century, as the mentions and descriptions of these plays were found in other literature as if that person has watched the performance of the play. But during the same time period, a community of artists चाक्यार used to perform it on stage without knowing about their authorship. These plays were published as authored by Bhāsa in 1913 by T. Gaṇapatiśāstrī at Travancore. Their were many counterviews as well about the plays not being of Bhāsa, but today, this is the widely accepted opinion.

Do you know that the story of Ramayana comes under the Vana Parva of Mahabharata? The story about how Shrirama rescued Devi Sita was narrated by Markandeya Muni to Yudhishthira after the incident of Jayadratha kidnapping Draupadi happened. When Draupadi was rescued, Yudhishthira asks Markandeya Muni that is there anyone else who had experienced the pain of separation from his wife? At that time, Markandeya Muni narrates the story of Ramayana.

Namaste! Welcome to the Monday Story Series by Sanskrit Vedashree
The story of Kurma avatar is from the माध्यन्दिन part of शतपथ ब्राह्मण –

Translation:
They went on praising and toiling for by, the gods indeed gained what they wished to gain and the sages. Now whether it be that the Gods caused it to attract them or whether they took to it of their own accord, they said, 'Come, let us go to the place whence the Gods obtained possession of the
world of heaven!' They went about saying. What attracts? What attracts? and came upon the sacrificial cake which had become a tortoise and was creeping about Then they. all thought. This surely must be the sacrifice!" - [3]

They said, "Stand still for the Ashwins! sides at Stand still for Saraswati! Stand still for Indra!" still it crept on "Stand still for Agni!" at this it stopped. Having then enveloped it in fire, knowing, as they did, that it had stopped for Agni, they offered it up entirely, for it was an oblation to the Gods. Then the sacrifice pleased them they produced it, they spread it and this same sacrifice is taught by the former to the later; the father to his son when he is a student - [4]
Here, the story is different than the tale Kurma avatar narrated elsewhere. Here, we find that the पुरोडाश i.e. sacrificial cake offered in the altar gets transformed into a turtle.

In the season of monsoon, the raindrops, lush green plants everywhere, freshness in the atmosphere and the mild fragrance of soil makes all of us feel fresh and gives us energy as these raindrops leads to new creation and new creation motivates us always!
The rainy clouds always remind me of the masterpiece by Kalidasa, none other than Meghadootam.

Translation --
On hearing the welcome sound of your mighty thunder, whose power carpets the earth in a bloom of wild mushrooms. Imperial cranes eager to reach Lake Manasa will join you in the sky, carrying lotus stalks to nourish themselves on their way to Kailasa.

- उत्तररामचरितम् (Act 2, Verse 4)

The teacher imparts the knowledge to the clever as well as to dullard, but he does not indeed give them the talent for learning, nor does he take away and there is a great difference between them with respect to results. It happens thus, a pure jewel is able to take in a reflection, not so a lump of clay and other things.

On this occasion of Guru Pournima, let us all bow down to our gurus and celebrate Guru Pournima. We, Sanskrit Vedashree wish you a very Happy Guru Pournima to all the gurus out there.
