The founding Editor of this magazine was Late Shri Sudhir Nandgaonkar, a noted Film critic.

*Screening of Korean film "The Way Home"*

A screening of Korean film '𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲' was organised by Film Society in Kattyayan Auditorium at 11:30am on 9th December 2022.

'𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲'' is a 2002 film, it tells the heart-warming story about a grandmother and her city-born grandson who comes to live with her in a rural village.

The film is written and directed by Lee Jeong-hyang. It has won many awards like 'Grand Bell Award for Best Film', 'Young Artist Award for Best Young Actor in an International Film' etc.

Students discussed various themes, scenes, characters and climax of the film. 60 students attended the screening.

*चित्रपट रसास्वाद अभ्यासक्रमाचा समारोप*

*जोशी बेडेकर स्वायत्त महाविद्यालयाचा अभिनव उपक्रम*

ठाण्यातील जोशी बेडेकर स्वायत्त महाविद्यालयाच्या फिल्म सोसायटी, जनसंज्ञापन विभाग व फेडरेशन फॉर फिल्म सोसायटीज ऑफ इंडिया यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने दहा दिवसीय चित्रपट रसास्वाद अभ्यासक्रमाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. ज्येष्ठ चित्रपट अभ्यासक डॉ संतोष पाठारे यांच्या उपस्थितीत दिनांक 30 ऑगस्ट 2022 दिवशी या अभ्यासक्रमाचा समारोप करण्यात आला. याप्रसंगी व्यासपीठावर महाविद्यालयाचे उपप्राचार्य डॉ महेश पाटील व फिल्म सोसायटीचे समन्वयक डॉ प्रशांत धर्माधिकारी उपस्थित होते.

कार्यक्रमाच्या सुरुवातीला डॉ महेश पाटील यांनी या अभ्यासक्रमात सहभागी झालेल्या विद्यार्थ्यांशी संवाद साधला. फिल्म सोसायटीचे समन्वयक डॉ प्रशांत धर्माधिकारी म्हणाले की, 'उत्तमोत्तम चित्रपट विद्यार्थ्यांनी आपल्या संस्कारक्षम वयामध्ये पाहिले तर त्यांचा जगाकडे पाहण्याचा दृष्टिकोन बदलू शकतो. सजग व रसिक प्रेक्षक घडवणे हा फिल्म सोसायटीच्या कामाचा गाभा आहे'.

समारोप सत्राला प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून उपस्थित असलेले डॉ संतोष पाठारे यांनी आपल्या भाषणात चित्रपट रसास्वादाची भूमिका विशद केली. केरळ व गोव्यामध्ये भरणाऱ्या आंतरराष्ट्रीय चित्रपट महोत्सवाबद्दल त्यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांना माहिती दिली. चित्रपट पाहताना ध्वनी पटकथा प्रकाश योजना संवाद दिग्दर्शन इत्यादी सर्व विषयांकडे लक्ष दिले पाहिजे या सर्व गोष्टींचा परिपाक म्हणजे उत्तम सिनेमा होय असे ते म्हणाले.

या दहा दिवस या अभ्यासक्रमामध्ये ज्येष्ठ चित्रपट समीक्षक व लेखक श्री गणेश मतकरी, जेष्ठ ध्वनी संयोजक मंदार कमलापूरकर, दिग्दर्शक निलेश कुंजीर व फेडरेशन ऑफ फिल्म सोसायटीज ऑफ इंडियाचे खजिनदार व चित्रपट अभ्यासक डॉ संतोष पाठारे यांनी चित्रपट रसास्वादाची मूलतत्वे, चित्रपटातील ध्वनि संयोजन, समांतर सिनेमा, जागतिक चित्रपटातील नवे प्रवाह इत्यादी विषयांवर विद्यार्थ्यांना मार्गदर्शन केले. या अभ्यासक्रमात अनेक उत्तम लघुपट व चित्रपट दाखवण्यात आले. डॉ प्रशांत धर्माधिकारी यांनी या संपूर्ण अभ्यासक्रमाचे समन्वयक म्हणून काम पाहिले. 70 विद्यार्थ्यांनी या अभ्यासक्रमाला सहभाग नोंदवला होता. सहभागी विद्यार्थ्यांना याप्रसंगी मान्यवरांच्या हस्ते प्रमाणपत्र वितरण करण्यात आले. काही निवडक विद्यार्थ्यांनी अभ्यासक्रमांमधून आपल्याला काय लाभ झाला काय नवीन शिकायला मिळालं यावर आपले थोडक्यात मत मांडले . या प्रकारचे अभ्यासक्रम विद्यार्थ्यांच्या सर्वांगीण विकासासाठी महत्त्वपूर्ण असतात असे मत महाविद्यालयाच्या प्राचार्या डॉ सुचित्रा नाईक यांनी व्यक्त केले.

On 1st August 2022, the Film Appreciation Course was inaugurated. The course is organised by Joshi Bedekar College Autonomous Thane and Federation of Film Society of India.
Noted writer and critic Dr. Santosh Pathare delivered lecture on " How to Appreciate a Film" . Vice Principal Dr. Mahesh Patil gave the opening remarks. The Convenor of the course Dr. Prashant Dharmadhikari spoke about the initiatives of Film society of the College.

*Value Added Course on 'Film Appreciation'*

VPM's Joshi Bedekar College Film Society & Department of Multimedia and Mass Communication is organizing a Value added Certificate course on “Film Appreciation" from *1 to 10 August 2022*. The course is organized in collaboration with *Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI)*. The course is open for the students, parents, researchers, teachers and for all who wish to learn appreciating films. The objective of the course is *to cultivate the taste for good cinema* among students, teachers and larger masses. The resource persons of the course would be experts from Film industry and academics with expertise in Film appreciation.
