This institute was eastablished by Mrs.Bhavana Sanjiv Lele for the sake of dance loving students . It is created to give proper training in classical dance " Kathak". Our institute students are giving fabulous performances in every competition and exams .

In Kathak, every mudra forms part of a visual language that transforms thought, emotion and narrative into expressive movement. Mukula Mudra, meaning flower bud, is created by bringing the tips of all five fingers together. Within abhinaya, it is used to depict a blossoming bud, a lotus, the act of eating and the holding of small, delicate objects.

Its understated form demonstrates the richness of Kathak's expressive vocabulary. The same gesture can convey different meanings depending on the context, facial expression and accompanying movement, revealing the depth and artistic refinement of this classical dance tradition.

Grace finds one of its most beautiful expressions in Mayura, the Peacock Mudra. Formed by joining the tip of the ring finger with the thumb while the remaining fingers extend gracefully, this Asamyukta Hasta celebrates beauty, symbolism, and expressive artistry.

Described in the Abhinaya Darpana, Mayura is used to portray the majestic peacock, flowing creepers, the gentle act of applying a tilak, arranging locks of hair, sprinkling sacred water, and ideas associated with honour and wisdom. Through a single gesture, it reveals how Kathak transforms subtle hand movements into powerful visual expression.

This is Mudra 4 of our and series, celebrating the timeless language of Kathak.
