Since and for are commonly mixed up in English.
The simple rule:
FOR → duration (a period of time)
SINCE → starting point (an exact time)
Use FOR:
I have lived in Mumbai for five years.
She has been waiting for a long time.
Use SINCE:
I have lived in Mumbai since 2019.
She has been waiting since morning.
Another pair that often gets mixed up:
We have known each other for many years.
We have known each other since childhood.

When we replace “very” with a specific word,
the sentence carries more weight.
“Excellent” feels stronger than “very good.”
“Furious” feels clearer than “very angry.”
Precision changes how your opinion sounds.
