On 22nd August, 2025, the Department of Social Work launched its official e-magazine “Social Echoes”. Its mission is to showcase the department’s commitment to social justice, community engagement, and transformative fieldwork.

The magazine has been developed by the faculties of the department and our scholar, Abhishek Chakraborty, who has also coordinated the content editing, design and layout of the magazine. It has been uploaded at the department website and is available now for download.

Tezpur is going to have its first pride walk on the 25th of September!!
Today, we tried to mobilize people and raise funds. Of course, capital is necessary for such an initiative but what we need more is to have your support. Please do join us, give your valuable input and spread love.
We felt so blessed to see so many people for today's jamming session which is leading us towards a wish of seeing more people join for the walk of Pride on the very day.
Come forward, connect with us, and ask your friend to join too.
Cause, at the end of the day, we need each other, isn't it?

We are excited to announce that Tezpur is going to have it's 1st Q***r Pride Walk on the 25th of September, 2022 (Sunday).
So everyone come and join in this walk of celebration of our existence, demand for our rights and paint the streets of Tezpur in rainbow colours.

World Social Work Day 2022 " Co- building new Eco-Social World :Leaving no one behind".
The Department of Social Work celebrated World Social Work Day. The program schedule went as follows-
-COMMUNITY ORGANISATION INTERFACE
-KNOWLEGDE INNOVATION INSTALLATION
-online public lecture by Medha Patkar

The Department of Social Work In collaboration with the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism organised International Women's Day on 8th March 2022.
There was special screening of " Xoudamini" and " Stitching dream on the Fabric " followed by a panel discussion on the bias and Gender equality today for a sustainable future tomorrow also there were stalls for exhibition and sale of handmade products .
Overall it was quite an enriching and successful program .

In a recently held Speaker's Initiative to involve stakeholders pertaining to the National Education Policy 2020 in Assam, Research Scholars at the department of Social Work, Tezpur University put forth a policy suggestions, "Social Work Education in Assam: A Policy Imperative for National Education Policy 2020"

Department of Social Work performed a flash mob on the eve of World Aids Day on 1december 2021.
And it was a great success with a strong message on Hiv myth Busters through a thematic storyline.

'International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women' is observed every year on 25th of November. It aims to create awareness on violence against women.
On that day the department of Social Work, Tezpur University had conducted a roleplay on physical abuses and domestic violence with a group of women.
