To bridge the gap between human organ availability and it's requirement, State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) J&K in collaboration with Department of Applied Art, Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA) University of Jammu organized a poster making and face painting competition on the theme 'LIFE AFTER DEATH' on Monday.
During the event, around 50 students from the department participated and gave a message of ''saving lives after death simply by pledging organs while living'' for their requirement after death.

Today the Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMFA), University of Jammu, organized a Flag Hoisting Ceremony to celebrate the ā€œAzadi ka Amrit Mahotsavā€ on the eve of 75th Independence Day of our country. The ceremony began with the hoisting of our National Flag by the chief guest – Corporator Neelam Kumari on the roof top of the Institute’s building in Poonch House, Talab Tillo, Jammu. Sh. Jang S. Verman, an eminent artist, was the special guest present on the occasion.

While speaking on the occasion, Madam Neelam Kumari congratulated the Institute of Music and Fine Arts on the 75th Independence Day celebrations and highlighted the initiatives taken by our hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. She even made a point to appreciate the sacrifice of our freedom fighters and specially mentioned Sh. Shayama Prasad Mukherjee.

Earlier, Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Principal IMFA, in his welcome address informed that the Institute of Music and Fine Arts always celebrates our National Integration & Communal Harmony. Those who were present on the occasion included – Sh. Rakesh Sharma, Sh. Bhadur Singh, Sh. Sunil Raina, Dr. Sumeet Madan, Sh. Suraj Singh, Dr. Jasmeet Kour, Mrs. Bindu Sharma, Sh. Sanjay Koul, Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Sh. Raj Kumar Sharma, Sh. Vijay Kumar, Mrs. Sujata Rajput, Dr. Milan Sharma, Sh. Sukhjeet Singh, Sh. Rohit Verma, Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Ms. Vaneeka Gupta, Sh. Jasleen Singh, Sh. Ankush kesar & others.

After the flag hoisting ceremony, the department of Applied Art distributed certificates and medals to the achievers who outshined in a National-level Photographic competition organized by the Trinity Photographic Circuit. The names of the achievers are – Anjali Relia, Daljeet Kour, Jaskaran Singh, Jyeshtha Jamwal, Sachin Kumar and Vaneeka Gupta.

The proceedings were eloquently carried out by Sh. Raj Kumar. The vote of thanks was presented by Sh. Rakesh Sharma, HOD Applied Art, who coordinated the whole programme effectively.
