In the given figure, points A, B, C, D and E lie on a circle. ED is a chord and BD is a straight line. ∠EBD = 30°, ∠EAD = 2x and ∠ECD = 3y.

Find the value of x + y.

🔵 Circle Geometry | Tangents from an External Point

In the given figure, CA and CE are tangents from the external point C. Therefore, AC = CE.

Also, BD is a tangent touching the circle at F, so:
BF = AB and FD = DE.

Hence,
Perimeter of △BCD = AC + EC
