When Geography Meets Surat’s Living Landscape

Class XII Humanities students of AMNS International School took their Geography learning into the field through a month-long internship with INTACH, Surat Chapter, from 03 June to 04 July 2026.

Students Sana Hingad and Manya Bhartia explored Dabhari Beach, Tena Creek, the Bhata Tributary and Gavier Lake, studying the Tapi’s estuarine ecosystem, mangroves and urban wetlands. Their observations were documented through SW Maps, field diaries and environmental poetry, culminating in a Digital Heritage Archive presented on 03 August 2026.

The presentation was attended by INTACH Surat representatives Ar. Falguni Desai and Ar. Gnanesh Lekhadia, Principal Ms. Sunita Matoo and HOD Social Science Ms. Jayashree Gopalakrishnan.
A project that turned local landscapes into primary sources—and students into young researchers of their own city.

Not Every Classroom Has Four Walls.

For 10 unforgettable days, 48 NCC cadets of AMNS International School stepped into a world of discipline, resilience, and teamwork at the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) organised by the 5 Gujarat Battalion.

From live firing and weapon training to drill, map reading, first aid, and physical endurance, every challenge tested their courage and strengthened their character. Their outstanding performance also earned accolades in basketball, tug of war, debate, quiz, and drill.

More than a camp, it was an experience that forged confidence, built lifelong friendships, and transformed young cadets into stronger, more responsible individuals.
