Madagascar Comet (moon moth) Argema mittrei is a beautiful moth of the peacock–eyed family. This is one of the largest butterflies in the world. Its wingspan reaches 140-160 mm. It is also called Madagascar Saturnia.
The moon moth is even depicted on a banknote of 5000 Malagasy francs (ariari, the monetary unit of the state of Madagascar) of the 1995 model.
And about the sad. The oral organs of both females and males are reduced, the butterflies do not feed on anything and live off the nutrients accumulated in the caterpillar stage - thus these beautiful butterflies live for only 4-5 days.
During this time, they should have time to find a mate and leave offspring
Sugar Flying Marsupial (sugar flying possum) Petaurus breviceps is a small animal resembling a squirrel. Body length 15-21 cm and the same tail, weight 95-170 g.
A feature of the flying marsupials is the membrane, which starts from the fifth toes of the front paws and ends on the first toes of the hind paws. When jumping, the animals stretch their paws to the sides, pulling the membrane, which allows them to "glide" through the air for considerable distances (up to 50 m or more). The flight course is regulated by the movement of the paws and tail.
Twisting the tail into a spring, possums can carry small objects - for example, twigs for a nest. Since they are nocturnal animals, their large and bulging eyes are adapted for night vision.
Flying possums live in Australia, New Guinea and Tasmania
