Today's Read & Draw activity was a big hit! ✏️🎨

I wrote simple CVC words like cap and cat on the chalkboard. The children first blended the sounds to read each word, then drew a picture to match it.

For my higher-level readers, we moved on to CVCE words like cake, game, and lake, giving them an extra challenge while reinforcing their blending and reading skills.

This activity is a wonderful way to check if children have truly understood what they read—not just decode the word. Adding drawing makes learning fun, meaningful, and memorable! ❤️📚
