The scents, sounds, and stories we carry within us... 🕊️📖

While teaching Rabindranath Tagore’s timeless poem “I Cannot Remember My Mother”, we paused on the imagery of memory—how a faint tune, the smell of shiuli blossoms, or an autumn breeze can bring back moments long gone.

I asked my Grade 9 students a simple question: “What is your fondest, earliest memory?”

What followed was pure magic. From 5-year-old battles over remote-control cars to mischievous sibling fights at Nana’s home, peaceful journeys to Char Dham, and the first taste of freedom on school trips without parents—each child unlocked a piece of their heart in English.

Literature isn't just about passing an exam; it’s about connecting our lived experiences with the human spirit. Seeing them speak with such vulnerability and joy is why I cherish this journey as an educator. 🍎✨
