Nobel prize winner, Andrea M. Ghez, became the 4th exemplary woman to get a Nobel prize in Physics. It was awarded to her for the discovery of a supermassive compact object(black hole) at the centre of our galaxy. She shared it with 2 other prominent figures, Reinhard Genzel and Roger Penrose. In her 25 years in this field she has always been focused on Sagittarius A* (our very own local black hole). She has set a benchmark to a lot of women around the globe. Ghez was inspired by the Apollo program Moon landings to becoming a female astronaut, and her mother encouraged that goal. Her most influential female role model was her high school chemistry teacher. She began college by majoring in mathematics, then changed to physics. She is currently a Physics and Astronomy professor in the University of California. Her pioneering discovery of the black hole has been a big leap for the Astronomy fraternity and it also proved the Einstein's theory of relativity.
