Where Learning Felt Like an Adventure: A Week of PYP & MYP Teacher Training at Aarth
Classrooms were replaced with collaboration circles, notebooks filled with colourful reflections, and the campus buzzed with curiosity, laughter, and endless conversations this past week as Aarth’s educators stepped into an exciting journey of professional learning. Our educators engaged in rich professional dialogue, collaborative reflection, and hands-on strategy building — all grounded in the IB philosophy that education is about developing the whole child.
The Teacher Training Week was not just about presentations and discussions, it was about experiencing learning the IB way.
From the very first session, teachers immersed themselves in Aarth’s vision and mission, reconnecting with the purpose behind meaningful education. Through interactive icebreakers, inquiry tasks, gallery walks, and reflective conversations, educators explored the heart of the IB philosophy and the power of the Learner Profile in shaping compassionate, curious, and internationally minded students.
One of the most memorable moments of the week was undoubtedly the energetic “Egg Drop Challenge.” Armed with cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, tape, and plenty of creativity, teachers became learners once again testing ideas, making mistakes, laughing together, and discovering firsthand what authentic inquiry truly feels like. The activity perfectly captured the spirit of concept-based and inquiry-driven learning.
The week also encouraged teachers to dive deeper into Approaches to Teaching (ATT) and Approaches to Learning (ATL), exploring how classrooms can become spaces where curiosity leads the way. Sessions on MYP assessment, feedback, inquiry cycles, and transdisciplinary learning sparked thoughtful discussions and fresh perspectives.
What made the week truly special was the atmosphere of shared growth. Teachers exchanged ideas across programmes, celebrated each other’s insights, and built stronger professional connections along the way.
