⚠️ HEAVY RAIN ALERT FOR JAMMU & KASHMIR 🌧️⛈️

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Srinagar has issued a Heavy Rain & Thunderstorm Alert for several districts of Jammu & Kashmir today (22 July), from 4:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

🌧️ Heavy to torrential rainfall, intense showers, thunderstorms, waterlogging, flash floods, and landslides are possible in vulnerable areas.

🚨 Safety Advisory:
• Stay indoors unless necessary.
• Avoid rivers, streams, and low-lying areas.
• Do not take shelter under trees or electric poles during thunderstorms.

📢 Summer Vacation Extended in Kashmir & Winter Zones of Jammu

The Jammu & Kashmir Government has extended the summer vacation for all Government and recognized private schools in the Kashmir Division and Winter Zones of Jammu till 26 July 2026 due to the prevailing weather conditions.

📅 Schools will now reopen on Monday, 27 July 2026.

Education Minister Sakina Itoo stated that the decision has been taken to ensure the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and their families.

⚠️ Everyone is advised to stay safe, remain vigilant, and follow the advisories issued by the concerned authorities.
