Some important points for those who are looking for jobs:
•• "Sir, I am very poor, I need this job"
This is the biggest disqualification of the candidate for an employer to decide on. Poverty is not the disqualification but treating poverty as qualification is. Your employer needs a person with a specific skill set. Tell him about your skills not about your problems.
•• "Sir, I will do only this work and won't do that work at all".
Be flexible. Don't drag your employer to a corner. Don't force him or her to tell you, "We will inform you, once we make a decision". This sentence is usually, a soft and civilized way of refusal. When you work in an organisation, which sells or markets something, you need to be flexible to learn. One day you will be asked to sell while the other day you will be asked to manage the inventory.
Stubbornness won't let you grow.
A McDonald's cashier, also does mopping of the floor, once in a week, as per the roster. An intern doctor or a junior doctor does the work which a paramedic can also do. That is how progression happens.
•• "Sir, Salary kya doge"
Don't ask this question before your have made it sure that you are the person the employer is looking for. Without telling him or her, what you can do and what you have learnt in your previous posting, how can an employer evaluate your package.
Last but not the least, if you are already employed, stay put. Don't spurn your job just because you think you can get a fatter salary at some other place. No, time and the business ecosystem is not conducive for the attrition right now. Businesses are not doing well at present. Market sentiment is negative.
So stick to your present jobs no matter how you dislike to carry on.
