General information
J&K Orphanage (Raahat Manzil) under the auspices of Muslim Welfare Society J&K has been Estd.in 1998. The Organization is registered with J&K Govt. for carrying on welfare activities. The Organization is a Non-Political, Charitable and Constitutional Institution working for the Welfare of the Destitute people like Widows, Orphans, Handicapped people, Poor Meritorious students. The Organization comprises three hostel buildings and a charitable Higher Secondary School namely "Welfare Educational Institute". 530-male Orphans are being provided satisfactory lodging, boarding and education.
The technical Institute has been established in 2006 comprising of 5-halls.The Orphan boys are learning Cutting and Knitting in the initial stage.
9-Craft Centers have been set up in different parts of Srinagar city where a large number of Orphan and Poor girls are learning various tailoring skills on charity basis.
The Organization provides monthly Financial Assistance to 700-Widows, 200-Handicapped persons and 200-Orphan girls. Moreover on the occasions of marriage of orphan girls all the possible help is provided to them.
Moreover the Organization has opened a Medicare Center including Dental clinic which renders the First Aid service round the clock to the Orphans in particular and Widows and other destitute persons in general.
The Organization recently made the availability of 31-K land for setting up a Charitable Degree College at Village Gogo, Tehsil and District Budgam, Jammu & Kashmir, on which constructional work will be started in coming months. (Inshallah)
AIM:
To help the needy and indigent people without any discrimination of Religion,Race and Region.
RULES OF ADMISSION:
1. A minor boy having no father is called an Orphan. No consideration of Religion, Colour, Caste, Region and Creed.
2. Any boy lost his parents and has no means of nourishment and protection.
3. Any boy whose father is a handicapped person and not able to earn livelihood.
4. Any boy whose father has gone under life imprisonment. The boy will be discharged from the Orphanage after his father's release.
5. Any boy whose father has divorced his mother and lives with his mother. If the parents reconcile, the boy will be discharged and handed over to them.
CRITERIA:
We enlist destitute people and accommodate orphans after a keen investigation and without any discrimination of Religion, Colour, Caste, Region and Creed. Our doors are open on humanitarian grounds.
APPRECIABLE AREAS OF WORK SINCE 1998:
1. More than 15'000-Orphan boys have been accommodated educated and nourished during the last 15-years.
Scholarship owners since 1998:
01. Higher Education = 250
02. Tech. Education including MBBS, BE = 50
03. Higher Level = 2'500
04. High Level = 2'500
05. Middle Level = 3'000
06. Primary Level = 3'500
07. Girls trained in crafts = 4'000
08. Religious Level = 200
09. Booklets Published on social and moral topics = 13
10. Sewing Machines given to Widows =270
11. Charitable Medicare opened =1
12. Charitable dental clinic opened =1

APPEAL:
Donate 30-thousand rupees yearly for adopting an orphan and one lac fifty thousand rupees for construction of a room. The donation shall definitely help you in the day hereafter.
