Motives of Celebration
Since Eid is a Islamic celebration ordained by Shariah Islaami ,it has some great motives like any other type of Ibadah or Deed.
Some of these great motives are:
1 Thankfulness of Allah for what he bestowed upon us from his bounties like Fasting, qiyaam ul layl the night prayer, Recitation of Quran , Zikr etc..
قل بفضل الله وبرحمته فليفرحوا (١)
Say: "In the Bounty of Allah, and in His Mercy (i.e. Islam and the Quran); -therein let them rejoice
This thankfulness should be with the Heart , the tounge and the body parts of a Believer.
2 Cheerfulness and Enjoyment with Halal means and with what leads to obeying Allah and towards immorality and disobeying him.
This entails having good food , a nice dress and perfumes and spending wholeheartedly on your family without wastefullness.
3. Connecting and reuniting with relatives , neigbours and friends by visiting them or by calling them. This also includes forgiving and pardoning those who we are not in good terms with .
Allah Says
وليعفوا وليصفحوا الا تحبون ان يغفرالله لكم (٢)
Let them pardon and forgive. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
4 . Realization and actualization of Islamic brotherhood by reaching out to our Muslim brothers however it may be possible such as through good words , t hrough charity or even by praying for his good.
