Candid Group of Schools

The school campus is ideally located at the National Highway Nowgam Bye-Pass and is expanded over spacious land within the compound wall. It is just 5 Kms away from the city center Lal-Chowk in a suburban area, within Srinagar, yet quite away from the din of the city routine. It is centrally located. To its north is Shopian; to its South Lal-Chowk; to its east is Shopian – the land of orchards and to its west is Varmul. The school has three building blocks specially designed to cater to educational needs. It has a separate administrative block, laboratory block and number of spacious classrooms and many more are coming up at the green site surrounded by tall trees and landscaped gardens all around it. It is well connected with different areas by the never failing transport facility. Every two minutes, buses ply on the four lane busy road. School buses shall also be made available in the near future.

Candid Institute was established in the year 1998 by two friends Mr. Abdul Majeed Bhat and Mr. Riyaz Ahmad Sheikh on a very low profile. By virtue of their dauntless work the school got evaluated to the Higher Secondary School status. Both of them faced tremendous hardships and trouble during the process but never gave in. their sweat and toil brought laurels to the school in the academics, sports, morals, social service and extra co-curricular activities
