IInitiative for Competition Promotion in Jammu and Kashmir (ICPJK) was set up in 2008 by a group of officers under the patronage of Mr A. Mir (IPS) with the aim of tapping the talent of students, encouraging them to appear for Civil Services Examination and helping them to improve their preparation for the examination. The initiative started with an awareness campaign throughout the valley. Since

its inception the Initiative has been rendering result-oriented coaching and counselling services to the candidates at all the three stages of Civil Services Examination, preliminary, mains and interview conducted by UPSC and JKPSC. The Initiative also provides boarding and lodging facilities, library, and internet facilities to selected candidates (30-35) every year. Every year the ICP conducts mock interview exercise for the aspirants called for personality test of the examination to give them an actual feel of the Board interview and enhance their chances of final success. ICPJK simultaneously aims at inculcating in them, the culture of serving the community as a whole. The Initiative was registered as a Trust in the year 2012 with five trustees on Board. Many pass outs of the Initiative are active members of the Initiative and have joined the efforts by board members. Dr Shah Faesal’s feat of toping at All India level in 2010 was the first major success story of the Initiative who later also became part of the initiative. Since its inception in 2008 more than 200 candidates trained at ICP have made it to the State Combined Services. Besides Dr Shah Faesal, half a dozen candidates from ICP have made it to all India Services/Allied Services so far. The initiative’s activities gave an overall fillip to the civil services aspirants in the valley and their percentage share in All India Services has improved every year since. A G Mir (IPS),

*ICP Residential Coaching and Guidance Program for Civil Services Exam-2026-27*

Srinagar: Initiative for Competition Promotion (ICP) in Jammu & Kashmir has announced admissions for its Residential Coaching Program for Civil Services Examination 2026–27 for graduates preparing for KAS/IAS exams.

The entrance test will be tentatively held in the first week of July 2026. A total of aprox 35 seats are available, including 25 percent for girls.

Selection will be based on a three-stage process comprising GS+CSAT, Essay, Ethics and Interview. The program offers hostel accommodation, mentorship, test series, library, and Wi-Fi facilities.

UPSC Releases Provisional Answer Key For Civil Services Preliminary Exam

NEW DELHI, May 27: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday released the provisional answer key for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2026.
It is for the first time that the provisional answer key has been released by the Commission after the completion of the preliminary exam.
Candidates can submit their representations, if any, until 6 pm on May 31 through the dedicated online portal, "Online Question Paper Representation Portal (QPRep)", available at upsconline.nic.in, the UPSC said in a statement.
