CEO Srinagar Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat Emphasizes Data-Driven Strategies and NEP 2020 for Strengthening Foundational Literacy & Numeracy at Zonal Workshop.

CEO Srinagar described foundational level teachers as the most important pillars in building a strong educational base for every child and urged them to continuously learn and adopt the latest pedagogical approaches to meet the evolving needs of 21st-century learners.

05/09/2026 Srinagar: Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat, Chief Education Officer Srinagar, graced the second day of the three-day Zonal Level Workshop on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) under the District Transformation Project Srinagar, organized by Eduweave Foundation in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, and the Chief Education Office Srinagar at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Amirakadal.

In his inaugural address, CEO Srinagar underscored the critical role of robust data-driven academic planning in elevating foundational literacy and numeracy outcomes across schools in the district. He described foundational level teachers as the most important pillars in building a strong educational base for every child and urged them to continuously learn and adopt the latest pedagogical approaches to meet the evolving needs of 21st-century learners.

“The New Education Policy 2020 rightly identifies FLN as the urgent and necessary prerequisite to all future learning. Without strong foundational skills, meaningful progress in other areas of education remains impossible,” asserted the CEO. He directed all participating teachers to make full use of the expertise of Master Trainers during the workshop and to clear their doubts comprehensively so that the training translates into tangible improvements in classrooms.

CEO Srinagar was accompanied by Ms. Nusrat Manzoor, Principal, GGHSS Amirakadal. The workshop was inaugurated on the first day by Ms. Anjum Raja, DEPO Srinagar, who motivated participants to actively engage in the sessions and ensure the knowledge gained is effectively implemented in real classroom situations.

Following the session, Chief Education Officer conducted a detailed academic inspection of GGHSS Amirakadal. He keenly observed classroom teaching methodologies and student learning outcomes. Students impressed him with their confident and brilliant responses to the questions posed. CEO Srinagar highly appreciated Principal Ms. Nusrat Manzoor and her dedicated team for upholding exemplary academic standards in the institution.

He also inspected Middle School Amirakadal, located within the GGHSS Amirakadal campus, and directed the Cluster Head to carry out frequent academic inspections to ensure sustained quality and accountability.

Later, CEO Srinagar visited PM Shri Government Middle School Panzinara, where he conducted a thorough academic review. He interacted with community members and promptly resolved several issues on the spot. He commended the Head of Institution and staff for maintaining high academic excellence and a clean, conducive learning environment.

CEO Srinagar Conducts Surprise Early Morning Visit to GMS Gari Masjid, Emphasizes Discipline, Moral Values, and Academic Excellence.

Srinagar, May 18, 2026:

Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat, Chief Education Officer Srinagar, paid a surprise early morning visit to Government Middle School, Gari Masjid, Zone Rainawari.
Arriving early, CEO Srinagar personally observed the arrival and warm welcome of students, the smooth conduct of the morning assembly, and its effective use for imparting moral guidance and value-based education to the young learners. He stressed the importance of starting the day with discipline and ethical grounding.

During the visit, CEO Srinagar carried out a detailed academic inspection of the school. He keenly observed the teaching methodologies adopted by the educators and interacted directly with students to assess their learning levels. The students responded promptly and confidently to the questions posed by the CEO, reflecting sound conceptual understanding and active classroom engagement.

Expressing satisfaction with the overall functioning of the institution, CEO Srinagar highly appreciated the Head of Institution and the entire staff for maintaining excellent discipline, impeccable cleanliness, hygiene standards, and a conducive academic environment in the school.

“The future of our society depends on the quality of education we impart to our children. Such dedicated efforts by school heads and teachers are truly commendable. We must continue to focus on holistic development — blending academic rigor with moral and ethical values,” said Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat.

CEO SRINAGAR GHULAM MOHI-UD-DIN BHAT LEADS DRIVE FOR STUDENT HEALTH AND QUALITY EDUCATION IN ZONE NISHAT

“The main goal of these camps is early detection and timely treatment of anemia among school children. This will help improve their overall health and boost their academic performance,” CEO Srinagar said.

Srinagar, May 16:

Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat, Chief Education Officer Srinagar, visited Government schools of Zone Nishat today as part of the Anemia Test and Treatment Programme (2025-26) under Samagra Shiksha.

CEO Srinagar personally reviewed the anemia screening and treatment camp being conducted for the students of the government schools of Zone Nishat. He interacted with the medical teams and students, and gave clear directions to Heads of Institutions and teachers. He stressed that students found anemic and given medicines must receive proper follow-up. Parents should also be counselled along with their children so that medicines are taken on time as advised by doctors and healthy lifestyle habits are adopted.

CEO Srinagar began his day at BMS Drugjan, where he observed the morning assembly. In his address to students and staff, he laid special emphasis on the importance of punctuality and discipline in school life.

Later, during classroom inspections at GMS Upper Nishat, he assessed the learning levels of students. He instructed the school staff to immediately begin remedial teaching for children who need extra support to improve their basic competencies.

At Boys Middle School Nishat, he appreciated the Head of Institution and staff for maintaining excellent cleanliness and upkeep of the school premises. At Middle School Dadamohalla, he spoke to the owner of the school building and requested additional accommodation to ensure smooth functioning and better facilities for students.

At Boys High School Harwan, CEO Srinagar inspected the repair work of dysfunctional toilets and expressed satisfaction that funds released for the purpose had been properly utilised. At Boys High School Guptganga, he conducted detailed classroom inspections and resolved several issues raised by the Head of Institution and teachers on the spot.

CEO Srinagar urged all stakeholders to make special and sustained efforts to ensure maximum attendance of students from Balvatika to Class 12th, noting that this time of the session is crucial for building strong academic and life skills.

During the visit, CEO Srinagar keenly observed the teaching methodologies adopted by educators and interacted directly with students to assess their learning levels and conceptual understanding.

Stressing the importance of discipline and regularity, CEO Srinagar directed all Heads of Institutions (HOIs) to prioritize student punctuality as a foundation for effective learning. He highlighted that consistent attendance plays a vital role in shaping students’ academic outcomes and overall personality development.

CEO Srinagar further called for close coordination among HOIs, SMDC members, educators, and parents to create a supportive ecosystem for learners. Meeting on effective usage of Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) Chatbots Held in Srinagar

An important meeting regarding the various chatbots under Vidya Samiksha Kendra was organized today by Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat, Chief Education Officer Srinagar, at the auditorium of S.P. Higher Secondary School.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Anjum Raja, DEPO Srinagar/DNO VSK, Ms. Nazrana, Member District VSK Committee, Ms. Hina Amin, District Cultural Coordinator, along with Principals and Headmasters of various schools.

During the meeting, participants were briefed in detail about the vision of Vidya Samiksha Kendra as outlined by CEO Srinagar and the necessary requirements for its effective implementation. CEO Srinagar directed all Principals, ZEOs, Zonal Team Members, and Headmasters to launch a massive VSK drive across the district with immediate effect from tomorrow.

Ms. Anjum Raja, DNO VSK, welcomed all the participants and provided a comprehensive overview of the current status of the following chatbots:
JK Shikshak Sahayak Chatbot
JK Study Buddy Chatbot
JK Digilearn Chatbot
JK Attendance Chatbot
She emphasized the need to ensure 100% usage of these chatbots by both educators and students specially designed for them.

Ms. Nazrana, Member District VSK Committee, elaborated on how the participation and performance of each school is being monitored at the district as well as UT level.

CEO Srinagar Sanctions In-Situ Promotion for 75 Officials; Emphasizes Zero Pendency

Srinagar – Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat, Chief Education Officer, Srinagar, has sanctioned in-situ promotion for 75 officials of the Education Department, District Srinagar. The approval includes 50 Teachers, 12 Teacher Grade-II, and 13 Non-Teaching staff.

Mr Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat stressed that he and his team are fully committed to ensuring zero pendency at every level in the department. He reiterated that timely service benefits and career progression of employees remain a top priority.

Chief Education Officer directed all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to submit all in-situ promotion cases promptly, along with complete and accurate documentation, without any delay.

The move has been widely welcomed by the staff and is seen as a step toward strengthening administrative efficiency and boosting employee morale across the district.
