Pamphlet Distribution Drive on Drug Awareness at SPHSS

An awareness programme on drug abuse prevention was organised at S. P. Model Higher Secondary School as part of the institution’s ongoing efforts to promote a healthy and responsible student community. The programme featured a pamphlet distribution drive aimed at educating students about the harmful consequences of substance abuse and the significance of leading a drug-free life.
The activity was conducted under the able guidance of Principal Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Reshi, who highlighted the vital role of schools in creating awareness among youth and protecting them from social evils. A mother’s love reflects in every lesson of care, patience, and guidance. At SPHSS, students celebrated Mother’s Day by dedicating a heartfelt song to their teachers, honouring the spirit of motherhood in the morning assembly.

SP Model Higher Secondary School celebrated Mother’s Day with warmth and gratitude during the morning assembly. The programme highlighted the unconditional love, care, and sacrifices of mothers and acknowledged the motherly role played by teachers in shaping the lives of students.
On the occasion, students dedicated a beautiful and emotional song to their teachers as a tribute to mothers. The soulful presentation filled the atmosphere with respect, affection, and appreciation, leaving everyone deeply touched.

A discussion on Myths Versus Facts on Drug Abuse was observed at S. P. Model Higher Secondary School under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) programme with the aim of creating awareness among students regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse. The activity was conducted under the able guidance of the Drug De-Addiction Committee members of the institution.
During the session, students actively participated in an interactive discussion where common myths related to drug addiction were addressed and scientifically explained with facts. Misconceptions such as drugs reduce stress, occasional use is harmless, and addiction cannot be treated were discussed in detail, helping students understand the reality and long-term consequences of substance abuse on physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being.

Participation in Two-Day Basketball Referee Course.

A two-day Basketball Referee Course was organised by the J&K Basketball Association* at Gindun Ground under the guidance of Secretary Sports Council Ms. Nuzhat Gul and retired coach Aman Sir. The course aimed to enhance the officiating skills, technical knowledge, and understanding of basketball rules among the participants.
Mr. Dilbagh, Lecturer at SPHSS, actively participated in the two-day programme and attended various theoretical and practical sessions related to basketball refereeing and game management.
On the occasion, Ms. Nuzhat Gul attended the valedictory function as the Chief Guest at Gindun Ground and felicitated the officials and participants for their dedication and active involvement in the course.
At the culmination of the programme, Mr. Dilbagh was awarded a certificate in recognition of his successful participation and commitment towards promoting basketball and sportsmanship.

The U-17 Kabaddi team of S.P. Higher Secondary School truly proved this with their performance against MSM Ethan. Displaying excellent teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship, the SPHSS players secured victory in their league match and brought pride to the institution.
