SPHSS Shines at Inter-School District Level Judo Competition.

SP Higher Secondary School Srinagar proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of its students at the Inter-School District Level Judo Competition, held at Polo Ground Indoor Stadium, Srinagar, and organised by DYSSO Srinagar.
Two students from SPHSS brought laurels to the institution by securing Gold Medals in their respective weight categories:

Irfan Alam, Class 11th (Arts), Roll No. 4402 — Judo, 81 kg — Gold

Babar Azam, Class 11th (Arts), Roll No. 3916 — Judo, 50 kg — Gold

The Principal, Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Reshi, congratulated both champions and expressed immense pride in their dedication, discipline and sporting excellence. He also highly appreciated the sports team for their tireless efforts, guidance and commitment towards nurturing the sporting talent of the school.
The achievement reflects the hard work, determination and competitive spirit of the students and further strengthens SPHSS’s proud sporting legacy. Online Orientation Meeting on Cyber Awareness & Hygiene Programme.

Mr. Adnan Siddiqi, Mentor, SPHSS, participated in an Online Orientation Meeting regarding the Cyber Awareness & Hygiene Programme being undertaken by I3C, IIT Jammu.
The orientation focused on creating awareness about responsible and safe digital practices, cyber hygiene, online security, and the importance of equipping students with essential knowledge to protect themselves in the digital environment. The meeting also provided guidance regarding the objectives and implementation of the programme.
The participation of the mentor reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting cyber awareness, digital responsibility, and safe online practices among students.

Three-Day Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on Substance Abuse and Addiction Awareness Concludes Successfully

As per the orders issued by the Principal, District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET), Srinagar, a three-day Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on Substance Abuse and Addiction Awareness was conducted from 4th August to 6th August 2026* at the Training Hall, DIET Srinagar.
Ms. Sheeba Mohi ud din, Lecturer, SP Higher Secondary School Srinagar, actively participated in the programme, which aimed to strengthen the capacity of teachers in addressing the growing challenge of substance abuse among students.
The training was led by experienced resource persons and medical experts who provided valuable insights into identifying the early clinical signs and symptoms of substance abuse, understanding students' behavioural and emotional changes, and adopting effective intervention strategies. The sessions emphasized creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing school environment where students can grow academically, emotionally, and socially. Participants were also trained in counselling approaches, early identification of at-risk students, referral mechanisms, and preventive measures to promote student well-being.
The programme concluded on 6th August 2026 with a renewed commitment from the participants to implement the knowledge and skills gained during the training in their respective institutions, thereby contributing towards building drug-free and mentally healthy school communities.

*SPHSS Students Intensify Preparations for Independence Day Celebrations*

*August 5,2026*

Students of SP Higher Secondary School , Srinagar, continued their preparations for the upcoming *15th August Independence Day celebrations at Zewan*. The school's sports team is working tirelessly to train and guide the participating students, ensuring they are well-prepared for the prestigious event.
Today *Ms. Asima Bashir and Ms. Sadhya Hamid* accompanied the students during the practice sessions and extended their support throughout the preparations.
The *Principal, Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Reshi*, is personally monitoring the preparations and has ensured that all necessary arrangements are in place. His commitment and keen interest have greatly motivated both the students and staff to strive for excellence and represent the institution with pride.

*NSS Volunteers Participated in Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Awareness Programme*

The NSS volunteers of SP Higher Secondary School actively participated in an important awareness programme under the *Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan held at the Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC), University of Kashmir.* The volunteers were accompanied by their mentor, *Mr. Altaf Ahmad Khan,* whose constant guidance and commitment to the core values of NSS inspired the students to actively engage in the programme. The dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff of SP Higher Secondary School, Srinagar, enthusiastically participated in the live telecast of the Hon'ble Prime Minister's address on "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat 2026" under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA). The programme was attended at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothibagh.
The participation was ensured under the guidance of the Principal, who emphasized the importance of the programme and encouraged active involvement of the staff in promoting the vision of a drug-free and developed India.

Proud Moment for SP Higher Secondary School Srinagar

SP Higher Secondary School Srinagar proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of its student, Luvneek Koul, who secured 1st Position in the Inter-Zonal District Level U-19 Chess Championship organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports. The competition was held on 28–29 July 2026 at M.P. Higher Secondary School, Srinagar.
The entire SPHSS fraternity takes immense pride in this remarkable accomplishment. Principal Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Reshi congratulated Luvneek Koul on his exceptional performance and appreciated his hard work, dedication, discipline, and sporting spirit. He conveyed his best wishes for continued success and encouraged him to keep bringing laurels to the institution.
