Three-Day Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on Substance Abuse and Addiction Awareness Concludes Successfully
As per the orders issued by the Principal, District Institute of Education and Trainings (DIET), Srinagar, a three-day Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on Substance Abuse and Addiction Awareness was conducted from 4th August to 6th August 2026* at the Training Hall, DIET Srinagar.
Ms. Sheeba Mohi ud din, Lecturer, SP Higher Secondary School Srinagar, actively participated in the programme, which aimed to strengthen the capacity of teachers in addressing the growing challenge of substance abuse among students.
The training was led by experienced resource persons and medical experts who provided valuable insights into identifying the early clinical signs and symptoms of substance abuse, understanding students' behavioural and emotional changes, and adopting effective intervention strategies. The sessions emphasized creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing school environment where students can grow academically, emotionally, and socially. Participants were also trained in counselling approaches, early identification of at-risk students, referral mechanisms, and preventive measures to promote student well-being.
The programme concluded on 6th August 2026 with a renewed commitment from the participants to implement the knowledge and skills gained during the training in their respective institutions, thereby contributing towards building drug-free and mentally healthy school communities.
