🎓 130 Students from TKM College of Engineering Visit NIT Srinagar

NIT Srinagar welcomed 130 students from TKM College of Engineering as part of their educational visit to the institute.

The visit provided students an opportunity to explore the campus, interact with the academic community, and gain insights into the institute’s academic and research environment.

Rhetorica & EcoCult Club — Where Words, Expression, and Action Converge.

Marking a new beginning at the National Institute of Technology Srinagar, Rhetorica & EcoCult Club successfully hosted their official Orientation Program, bringing together enthusiastic minds from across the campus for an engaging day of expression, creativity, and student participation.

Designed to welcome incoming talent, the orientation offered students a vibrant platform to showcase their skills, exchange ideas, and step into the world of public speaking and cultural engagement.

From high-energy 60-Second Introductions and dynamic debates to fun, interactive events like Chit & Draw, the orientation was a celebration of confidence, spontaneous thinking, and artistic flair.

The event was organized by Rhetorica & EcoCult Club, Students’ Gymkhana, NIT Srinagar, under the guidance of Dr. Samaira Jan (Faculty Coordinator) and the Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW), with the collective efforts of the organizing team, volunteers, and participants making this gathering a resounding success.

As Rhetorica and EcoCult Club embark on this new session, we look forward to a vibrant year of dialogue, sustainable initiatives, leadership, and creative expression at NIT Srinagar.

📱 Connecting, Creating & Communicating!

The Social Media Team of NIT Srinagar had an engaging interaction with the newly appointed Director, Dr. Anurag Mishra.

The team began by introducing themselves and sharing an overview of their roles and responsibilities. The discussion then focused on the work being carried out across the Institute’s social media platforms, content creation, digital storytelling, and the efforts taken to maintain consistency and a strong online presence across platforms.

The interaction provided an opportunity to share ideas, discuss ongoing initiatives, and explore ways to further strengthen NIT Srinagar’s digital communication and outreach.

🚀 NIT Srinagar Takes Innovation to the JK Startup Idea Challenge!

Greenovator Incubation Foundation (GIF), NIT Srinagar, facilitated the participation of 15 innovative startup ideas from NIT Srinagar at the JK Startup Idea Challenge, organised by JKEDI District Office, Srinagar, in collaboration with SP College, on August 31, 2026.

Featuring ideas from students across departments and startups incubated at GIF, the challenge provided a platform to showcase innovations, engage with mentors, receive expert feedback, and explore pathways to build scalable ventures. 💡

Through continuous mentoring and guidance, GIF—under the leadership of Ms. Sana Aftab, CEO, GIF, and Mr. Jehangir Hameed, Incubation Manager, GIF—continues to nurture student innovators and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem at NIT Srinagar.

🌊♻️ RECLAIM 2026 | NIT Srinagar

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar successfully hosted RECLAIM 2026, the 1st International Conference on Water, Wastewater and Waste Management, on 27–28 August 2026, organized by the Water Resource Management Centre (WRMC).

The two-day conference brought together researchers, academicians, policymakers and industry experts from India and abroad to discuss sustainable solutions for water resource management, wastewater treatment and waste management.

🌍 Delegates and speakers from premier institutions including IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, IIT Madras, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Hyderabad and CSIR participated in the conference.

The event featured plenary talks, seven technical sessions, a poster session, Best Paper & Best Poster Awards, and a dedicated workshop on “Challenges and Solutions for Efficient Sewage Treatment in Hilly and Cold Regions of India.” Strong participation from UEED engineers across Jammu & Kashmir further strengthened industry–academia collaboration.

The conference was coordinated by Dr. Khalid Muzamil Gani, Organizing Secretary, with the guidance of Prof. A.Q. Dar, Chairman, WRMC. The inaugural session was graced by Mr. Faz L*l Haseeb, IAS, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation & CEO, Srinagar Smart City Limited.

🙏 NIT Srinagar acknowledges the support of Khilari Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., SIMA Labs, Wani Infratech and Green Oasis Equipment Pvt. Ltd.

RECLAIM 2026 marks the first international conference of this scale hosted by NIT Srinagar in water, wastewater and waste management.

🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️ National Sports Day 2026 | Day 3 — Moving Together, Finishing Strong! 🇮🇳

The three-day National Sports Day 2026 celebrations at NIT Srinagar concluded with an energetic final day dedicated to running and cycling under the theme “Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat.” 🏆

The day began with a flag-off by the Registrar, NIT Srinagar, Prof. Atikur Rehman, marking the start of the fitness activities.

Students, children, faculty and staff members came together with great enthusiasm and actively participated in the running and cycling activities, showcasing the spirit of fitness, teamwork and community participation. 🙌

The celebrations served as a reminder that staying active is an important part of a healthy and balanced life. 💪

With energy on the track, wheels on the road and the spirit of sports in every participant, National Sports Day 2026 came to a memorable close at NIT Srinagar! 🇮🇳✨
