HSS Hajin Revives Democratic Tradition with Student Council Elections
Government M.L. Higher Secondary School Hajin witnessed a landmark moment as it successfully conducted elections for the posts of Secretary and Deputy Secretary, reinstating the student democratic process after a gap of nearly three decades.
The entire election process was carried out in a systematic and transparent manner, beginning with the official notification, followed by nomination filing, campaigning and finally polling. The event generated great excitement among students, resulting in an impressive voter turnout. A total of 432 votes were cast during the election.
Six candidates contested the elections, each representing a unique symbol to connect with voters:
Hilal Sajad — Candle
Hyder Hameed — Mike
Shakir Yousuf — Bat
Raqib Shafi Rather — Pen
Iqra Hamid — Laptop
Bilqis Jan — Chair

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Respected Principal Mr.Mehboob Ahmad Khan stated that such activities play a vital role in nurturing leadership skills and awareness about democratic responsibilities among students.
Providing further insights, Vice Principal Mr. Shakir Shafi noted that the polling process was conducted peacefully and efficiently, with students showing keen interest and discipline throughout.
The students participated in the entire election process in different capacities showing keen interest and enthusiasm.It provided them an opportunity to get first hand experience of conducting elections.
In the results, Hilal Sajad, secured 130 votes to win the post of Secretary. Raqib Shafi Rather emerged as the Deputy Secretary, securing 116 votes.
After the declaration of results, the elected candidates took an oath of responsibility, pledging their commitment to student welfare, discipline and institutional progress.

A brief yet impactful session on the election process was successfully conducted today at Government Higher Secondary School Hajin, aiming to familiarize students with democratic procedures and responsibilities involved in elections.
During the session, a total of six candidates formally filled their nominations and confidently presented their manifestos, highlighting their vision, commitments, and plans for the welfare of students. The event provided a practical platform for students to understand the importance of leadership, accountability and fair representation.
Furthermore, polling parties were officially announced to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming elections. A dedicated training session was also organized for these polling parties. Mr. Ashiq Hussain Dar (Teacher)and Mr. Javaid Ahmad Dar (Teacher)conducted a comprehensive training session guiding the polling parties about their roles duties and the correct procedures to be followed on polling day.
Respected Principal sir (Mr.Mahboob Ahmad Khan)of the institution appreciated the initiative and commended both staff and students for their active participation and enthusiasm in promoting democratic values within the school environment.
Adding to the occasion, the Chief Election Commissioner HSS Hajin, Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Wani, emphasized that such initiatives are essential for developing a strong sense of responsibility, leadership and democratic awareness among students. He stated that these practical exercises help students understand the real essence of elections transparency and the value of their vote thereby preparing them to become responsible citizens in the future.
The session concluded with a press bite by the Vice Principal,Mr.Shakir Shafi who highlighted the importance of such activities in nurturing informed active and responsible citizens of tomorrow.

Special Interactive Session Held at HSS Hajin

In a continuous endeavour to provide quality education and meaningful exposure to students, Higher Secondary School Hajin today organized a special interactive session with Dr. Maroof Ahmad Shah, a renowned scholar, writer, critic, columnist and veterinarian, who is currently serving as Deputy Director, Sheep Husbandry Kashmir.
The session aimed at inspiring students and broadening their perspectives by connecting them with accomplished personalities from diverse fields. Dr. Shah, while addressing the gathering, delivered an insightful lecture emphasizing the importance of linking education with economic productivity. HSS Hajin, May 7: A rejuvenating Yoga session was organized today at HSS Hajin in collaboration with the Department of AYUSH Bandipora under the banner of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The programme aimed to spread awareness about a healthy and drug free lifestyle among students.
The session was conducted by Yoga Instructors Mr. Irshad Ahmad and Mr. Tamsheel Ahmad, who guided the participants through various yoga asanas and breathing exercises. They emphasized the importance of yoga in building physical strength, mental clarity and emotional stability, especially in preventing substance abuse among youth.
Students and staff members participated actively and showed great enthusiasm throughout the session. The instructors also educated the students about how adopting healthy habits like yoga can help in staying away from drugs and leading a disciplined life.

Hajin, May 6: As part of the nationwide campaign Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, HSS Hajin organized an impactful guest lecture to spread awareness about drug abuse and its prevention. The session was delivered by Mr. Abdul Hameed Mir, a distinguished expert in the field of drug awareness.
During the lecture, Mr. Mir highlighted the alarming rise in substance abuse among youth and explained its serious effects on health, education and society. He stressed the importance of self discipline, strong moral values and the role of students in building a drug free nation. He also guided students on how to resist peer pressure and make positive life choices.
The programme was attended by the Respected Principal, staff members and students, who actively participated in the session. The school administration appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of such awareness programmes under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
